Background Information:
When the Sonic the Hedgehog mini-series became
popular, Archie Comics continued publishing the comic as a regular
series. At first the series followed the same format of
the mini-series; the stories were humorous, had two main stories,
and a couple of one page special short stories. As the series
increased in popularity (and the popularity of the Saturday morning
cartoon show increased), the comics gathered a serious fan base that
wanted serious stories.
