Sonic bangs on the telecrate, a new device created by Nate and Rotor. The telecrate was constructed from Robotnik's old devices and some power rings. One telecrate has been placed in every home in both Knothole and Mobotropolis. Tonight King Acorn will give a message for everyone to hear. Rotor says that now that his work is done, he is leaving to find his parents (last seen in Sonic the Hedgehog #32). Everyone says their goodbyes to Rotor.
Later, Sally approaches her father as he prepares for the live broadcast. King Acorn explains to both Sally and Elias that he will inform the people of Queen Alicia's illness and the defeat of Ixis Naugus. Soon it is time to begin the broadcast, and King Acorn addresses his subjects. King Acorn begins by thanking everyone and then stating that the planet will need some time to recover from Robotnik.
In outer space, a satellite finds a target and begins activation. Suddenly King Acorn's message turns to static on the telecrate. Sonic and his family watch in shock as a picture of a baby Julian Kintobor is displayed on the screen. An unknown voice narrates the story of how Julian was born with a large IQ (and soon grew a large body). Julian was the assistant to a geo-physician named Nathaniel in a city named Megapolis. Then a war broke out with the creatures on the planet, and the Ministry of Conflict sought all of its talent to create weapons. Julian created the Ultimate Annihilator, which needed a rare ore to operate. The Ministry of Justice, headed by Julian's brother, Colin Kintobor, denied Julian's request for ore and had him imprisoned. Julian had intended to test his weapon on his own people, after all. Later Julian escaped from prison and was rescued by two creatures (i.e. Uncle Chuck and Jules Hedgehog), who brought Julian to "King Max."
Warlord Kodos was ordered to train Julian, and once Julian learned everything, he replaced Kodos. (The telecrate shows Julian waiving to Kodos as he enters a mysterious portal.) With Julian, the war began to favor Mobotropolis. Soon afterwards Julian's nephew, Snively, joined him. Julian then tampered with Charles Hedgehog's roboticizer, a device to heal the wounded. Over ten years ago, a metallic flagship appeared over Mobotropolis and it was not Julian Kintobor, but Doctor Robotnik who banished the king and began to roboticize the citizens to work in his factories. Groups then rose to fight against Robotnik. With his victory, Robotnik went back to Megapolis and found a ghost town. Robotnik later created a being known as E.V.E. (in Sonic #21), which sent Robotnik to an alternate future and encountered Robo-Robotnik. Robo-Robotnik sent Robotnik back to Mobius just in time to see Sonic arrested for murdering Sally (in Sonic #47). Robotnik later gave his own life as he protected Mobius from evil (referring to Sonic #50/Sonic Super Special #6). The narrator then signs off and the transmission ends.
Sonic knows this was not King Acorn's message and then responds when Sally contacts him on his watch. Sally believes that there was a glitch which allowed for a pirate broadcast. Sonic agrees and bids Sally good night. Sonic acts like nothing happened in front of his family and says it was a false alarm. He then admits that he hated the idea of accepting a life of peace and returning to school, but now he is glad that his life of fighting against Robotnik is over. As Sonic gives his family a hug, Robotnik appears in front of Snively and says he knows that Snively is the one responsible for causing his death.

There was little contact with Overlanders until one day Prince
Emerson looked across Roundabout Creek and saw an Overlander boy. Emerson
called out to the boy, who said his name was Paladin.
Emerson explains that he was on his way home and decided to take a walk. Paladin
then explains that his home is beyond the badlands and he is here for target
shooting. Emerson is confused, so Paladin removes his gun and shoots at a nearby
tree branch. Intrigued, Emerson climbs a tree to reach the other side of the
creek. Paladin hands Emerson the gun, and Emerson tries shooting at a tree branch.
To Emerson's surprise, he falls to the ground from the recoil and returns the
gun to Paladin.
Paladin explains that it is fun to shoot at a moving target and aims at a bird. Emerson jumps in front of the gun, which fires. The bird flies away as Emerson lies on the ground. With his last breath, Emerson states that it is wrong to take the life of a living creature. Paladin is shocked since the bird was the target. In a state of confusion, he runs away as King Theodore, son of King Alexander, finds the body of Emerson. Although King Theodore is upset at the loss of his son, he returns home and bans all contact with the Overlanders. This is why Mobians do not use "gun-like" weapons. Unfortunately, the king's actions will lead to a misunderstanding and result in years of war.
