Part I:
Sally's rope is sliced by a laser, and she starts to fall.  Tails picks Sally up and flies her to safety.  The freedom fighters slide down a snowy slope, and Sonic realizes that they've been tracked by a robot dog.  Sonic then recognized the dog as Muttski, who was Sonic's best friend and was roboticized at the same time as Uncle Chuck.  Suddenly Muttski and the swatbots turn away and leave.  Sonic tries to run after Muttski, but Uncle Chuck appears and tells Sonic to stay.  Uncle Chuck explains that although he still has control of his mind, Muttski does not.  The robots went away because of Uncle Chuck's knowledge of Robotnik's secret codes.  Antoine suggests that everyone should leave and falls down the slope.  He finds himself looking at a frozen creature.  Uncle Chuck says that it is a prehistoric Mobian Bear from 8,000 years ago.  When Tails learns that the scientific name was Mobus Ursidae Sapiens, he suggests that they call him Mobie for short.  Sonic says they should leave him alone, but Rotor disagrees and says they should take him to Knothole and revive him.

Part II:
Rotor explains to Sonic that by adjusting a Glaciator they got from Robotnik, the device can be used melt things.  He continues to say that the process must be done over a period of days.  Sonic decides to leave and accidentally bumps the Glaciator.  Mobie starts to move and crushes the Glaciator with his club.  After breaking the window, Mobie jumps outside and attacks Sally.  Bunnie grabs Mobie and sets him on top of a tree.  Sonic and Antoine think it was a mistake to revive Mobie, and Rotor reminds him that their world is a total shock to Mobie.  Bunnie recalls that she saw a paintbrush in Mobie's hand when they found him.  She believes that by using art she can communicate with him.  Soon Bunnie returns with a picture of Mobie holding hands with her and Sonic.  Mobie recalls his family and jumps off the tree, landing on Sonic's head.  As Mobie runs away, Bunnie says somebody has to run after him before the robots find him.  Sonic knows that he must follow Mobie.

Part III:
Sonic runs around the mountains, angry that he hasn't found Mobie.  Soon he finds Mobie surrounded by swatbots.  Sonic uses a new technique that allows him to spin around and create a tornado.  The swatbots are thrown in different directions, and a dizzy Sonic runs into a wall.  Muttski appears and growls at Sonic.  Mobie grabs a vine and ties it to a tree.  He swings down and rescues Sonic just as Muttski tries to attack.  Mobie picks up a rock and holds it over Muttski.  Sonic stops him and explains that Muttski is his friend.  Sonic then remembers what Bunnie did and draws a picture on the ground showing Sonic and Muttski with hearts.  Mobie understands and picks up Muttski.

After Sonic and Mobie return to Knothole, Uncle Chuck explains that he was able to restore Muttski's consciousness.  He also says that he knows where Mobie can live in a familiar place.  Later Uncle Chuck shows Mobie the Mobian Jungle.  Mobie is happy, and Sonic tells Muttski to say goodbye and give Mobie his paw.  Muttski follows Sonic's orders literally and Sonic says he'll have to remember that Muttski is a robot.

"Prisoners!"
Script:  Mike Kanterovich & Ken Penders
Pencils:  Ken Penders
Inks:  Harvo

Charmy says that they were fighting for their lives in the jungle (see Knuckles' Chaotix special), but now they are prisoners in a dark room.  A voice says that he's kept them in the dark for his reasons.  He explains that there is no need for the Chaotix to use their skills and once the "guest of honor" appears, everything will make sense.  Vector says that they don't know who the voice is.  The voice says he will solve that problem, and a door opens.  The Chaotix walk out of the dark room and see Archimedes.

Part Two:
Rotor got a distress call from his mom, and Princess Sally gave him permission to investigate (see Sonic the Hedgehog #31).  He found out that Robotnik was using the walruses in a scheme to conquer Mobius.  Before he could do anything, Rotor was knocked out and started to drown.

Rotor regains consciousness and recognizes Sealia (from issue #26).  Sealia explains that while she was looking for her dinner, she saw Rotor sink in the water.  She swam beneath him and pushed him up to the surface.  Once she got to an ice floe, Sealia tried to lift Rotor on to it.  Augustus came by to help and lifted Rotor out of the water.  Sealia returns Rotor's cap, and Rotor explains that it was given to him by his mom.  Suddenly Rotor remembers that his mom called him on his radio and that was why Rotor traveled north.  Rotor explains to Sealia that Robotnik plans to build a giant freezer, creating a new ice age.  Rotor says Sealia has to get her friends.  Sealia says that Guntiver, Erma, and Flip live too far away and that they are all getting settled in the area.  Rotor starts to panic and waves his arms.  An angry Augustus comes and picks up Rotor.  Rotor gasps for air and says he can explain.

Soon Rotor apologizes for his actions and says he is worried about his family.  Sealia says they need a plan.  Later a large horse arrives at the fortress with a note saying that it is from the "Frozen Trojans."  Robotnik realizes it's a trap and Rotor, Augustus, and Sealia jump out of the horse and destroy the icebots.  Rotor looks at the monitor with Robotnik's picture and says that Sealia is going to blow up the fortress.  Robotnik commands the walruses to destroy Rotor.  The walruses turn to Rotor, so Augustus picks Rotor up and carries him outside to the edge of the ice floe.  Augustus sets Rotor down and swims underwater.  As the walruses approach, Augustus splits the ice floe in two pieces.  Augustus explains that the walruses will be unable to fulfill Robotnik's order.  Rotor says goodbye to his family, and in the background, the fortress explodes.

Shortly afterwards, Augustus says he will keep an eye on the walruses, and Sealia adds that they will contact Rotor on the radio he gave them.  Rotor says that he will figure out a way to restore the hypnotic walruses and return someday.
