Sonic stands in awe as he gazes at the lost temple of Shazamazon. Making his
way toward the temple, Sonic remembers how he began his quest to find Ixis Naugus
and met Nate Morgan, the creator of the power rings. When they were all taken
to Nate's ring vault, Sonic and Tails fought Ixis with new power and were able
to seal Ixis in the zone. The castle they were in collapsed and Nate's best
friend, Eddy the Abominable Snow-bot, was trapped while helping everyone escape.
Nate agreed to return to Mobotropolis; however the ring powering the bi-plane
does not have enough energy. Sonic walks into the temple and ducks just as guns
fire from the walls. Sonic crawls along until he clears the gunfire and falls
toward a lava-like pit. Flinging his whip, Sonic swings to safety.
Meanwhile, a satellite orbiting the planet Mobius becomes active and locks on target.
Four panels stand outside the temple, and one appears to come to life. Inside the temple, Sonic looks at his singed sneakers before noticing a glowing light. Sonic walks toward the light and sees a ring on a pedestal, which he believes is the Ring of Acorns. Sonic removes a ring from his backpack and quickly replaces it for the Ring of Acorns. As he walks away, Sonic realizes that the green and black-spotted walls are closing in on him. Sonic jumps up only to find that there is a large snake in the room. Moving quickly, Sonic manages to have the snake tie itself in a knot.

Sonic walks away proud of himself as a shadow covers him. Looking back, Sonic
finds that the snake is rolling toward Sonic like a bowling ball. Sonic runs,
and when he finds the exit to the temple, he also finds a group of hostile Robians.
Sonic quickly digs a hole and jumps inside just in time as the snake knocks
over the Robians. Outside of the temple stands more Robians. Sonic tunnels to
the surface and smashes the Robians as he runs back toward the bi-plane. Tails
asks Nate what the Ring of Acorns replaced at the temple. Nate explains that
there was a Super Emerald, which he used to create rings for Ixis. Sonic runs
toward the bi-plane and throws the Ring of Acorns at Nate. As Nate places the
ring, Sonic jumps in the bi-plane and finds a few small snakes. Sonic throws
the snakes out of plane and asks why they aren't home. Nate tells Sonic he must
make a wish, so Sonic wishes his adventure was over.

Lupe packs her things as Princess Sally tries to convince Lupe to stay. Determined
to return home, Lupe bids Sally goodbye and leaves with the wolfpack. As Sally
watches the wolves leave, she tells Bunnie they should plan a surprise for Sonic's
birthday.
As the wolfpack travels, Lupe remembers her parting with Lobo, who would take care of their cubs while she left to fight the war. The wolfpack believed they were fighting the battle alone until they came across Sally and her freedom fighters. Suddenly Lupe stops, noticing a large river that cut across a great canyon. One of the wolves sets up a raft, and everyone climbs in to cross the river. A storm hits the area, and the wolves notice that the territory is foreign to them. Fighting the current, the wolves struggle to reach land where an arch and strange buildings await.
