Sonic is amazed by all of the power rings and tries to touch them. Eddy jumps
in front of Sonic and growls. Nate explains that he does not want the rings
exploited by outsiders like Ixis. Sonic insists that the rings can be used for
good and Nate could move back to Mobotropolis. Eddy says that Nate stays. Sonic
is shocked that Eddy can speak a little bit of their language. Nate changes
the subject and explains that he is no longer a citizen of Mobotropolis. Sonic
is angry and says he thought Nate was a hero, but now he realizes that Nate
used to be a hero and ran away when he had problems. Suddenly the ground shakes,
and the image of Ixis appears in the rocks. Ixis jumps to the balcony and creates
a wall of rock, cutting Sonic and Tails off from Nate and Eddy. Eddy picks up
Nate and tells him to stay.

As Eddy protects Nate, the power rings are absorbed by Ixis, Sonic, and Tails.
The three are now transformed, and Ixis instantly starts drawing symbols into
the air, trying to open the portal to the Zone of Silence. Ultra-Sonic
speeds toward Ixis and begins to fight with different elements. Hyper-Tails
flies behind Ixis, and the birds that once surrounded Tails attack Ixis. Ixis
turns around and freezes the birds in a block of ice. Nate knows he must take
action, but Eddy tells him to stay. As Ixis and Ultra-Sonic fight, Ixis tells
how he met Feist. Nate yells at Ixis, who sends a gust of wind toward Nate.
Hyper-Tails catches Nate and places him back on the balcony. Sonic and Tails
feel week once they are on the balcony and pass out. The power of Ixis continues
to increase and soon he has the power to replace reality with the Zone of Silence.
Before Ixis can succeed, he must first stop Nate. Ixis files in toward Nate
and grabs his neck. The eyepiece worn by Nate slides in front of his eye and
suddenly Ixis is thrown backwards.
Now that Ixis is defeated, Nate checks on Sonic and Tails. The ground shakes, and Eddy holds a piece of the roof above him. Sonic uses his Triple-S spin to create a hole in the wall. Once Sonic and Tails are safe, Nate runs back to save Eddy. Eddy tells Nate to leave, and the roof collapses. Nate, Sonic, and Tails slide down the cliff from the force of the avalanche. Although Nate has won the battle, he has paid the price.

A group of cloaked figures, known as the Ancient Order of Ixis, try to learn
what Mobius was like before the Days of Fury. Suguna
says that with their combined powers they cannot learn what caused the damage
to Mobius. Nusgau says
that there are other means to gain power; not only has he mastered the element
of wind, but also earth and water. Agunus
and Suguna protest since they are the only masters of earth and water, respectively.
Nusgau explains that they have traded the secrets of the elements and that there
is only one element left to control. The three head toward the surface and Nusgau
explains that they will now learn the secrets of fire. First the element earth
will be used to cross the terrain, followed by the water to cross the sea, and
finally air to fly toward the sun. The three creatures run across the land,
and Agunus uses his hidden earth abilities to race in front of Nusgau and Suguna,
jumping into the sea. As everyone begins to swim, Suguna uses his powers to
quickly pass the other two and head into the sky. Suddenly Nusgau flies faster
toward the sun. Agunus grabs onto Nusgau's feet and as they pass Suguna, he
grabs onto Agunus' feet. Nusgau continues to fly toward the sun, and Suguna
says if one of them goes, then so does the whole order.
Prince Maximillian spots a falling star at night and then the next morning a strange creature appears in the royal dining hall. The creature introduces himself as Ixis Naugus, a wizard willing to serve King Frederic.
