The year is 3235, and the battle against Robotnik has continued for the
past eleven years. The war began when Warlord Julian renamed himself Robotnik
and banished King Acorn to the Zone of Silence. Now the freedom fighters
are preparing to fight what may be their final battle.
Sonic and Sally find their target in Robotropolis. Sonic shoots
a grappling hook and then runs up the rope with Sally. Lupe and her
wolf pack watch from a distance as Sonic and Sally reach the pinnacle.
Drago contacts the Knothole freedom fighters, who are in a different location.
Antoine responds and says they must wait for a signal before anyone can
move. Rotor uses a pair of binoculars to watch Sonic and Sally.
Sally begins to look ill and then begins to recall prior events.
Her discussion at the campfire left her with many questions (Sonic the Hedgehog #46). After the discussion,
Rosie contacted Sally and brought her to her recovered father. King
Acorn informs Sally that Sonic the Hedgehog is a traitor. Sally must
prove that Sonic is still loyal by accompanying him on the next mission.
After recalling that her father was like a stranger, Sonic calls her name.
Sonic enters an air duct as Sally uses a rope to climb down the building.
Robotnik watches Sally and activates a set of guns to appear from the building.
Rotor pulls out a large weapon (from Sonic #44)
and shoots the guns. Antoine points out that Sonic is there.
The freedom fighters rejoice at Sonic's arrival and then watch in fear as
Sonic pulls out a pocket knife. Sonic cuts the rope and Sally falls
to the ground. Bunnie uses her robotic legs to make her way to the
ground as the wolf pack begins to fight. Lupe commands everyone to
stop when she sees Bunnie at Sally's side.
Robotnik laughs but then stops when Sonic suddenly appears. Robotnik
activates a series of lasers that shoot at Sonic. As Sonic avoids the
lasers, Robotnik and Snively escape down a slide hidden below Robotnik's
chair. Sonic finds a reflective object and uses it to ricochet the lasers
back at the machine.
Bunnie picks up Sally and later Doctor Quack determines that Sally is
still alive. Doctor Quack orders that Sally be taken to Knothole.
Lupe and the wolf pack stay and fight while the freedom fighters rush back
to their plane. As soon as everyone boards the plane, Antoine flies
the plane back to Knothole. Tails wonders what happened to Sonic.
Sonic appears on the ground and wonders what happened to the plane.

Robotnik and Snively travel in the underground transit system, which survived
the previous earthquake (in Sonic #37). Once
arriving in the south section of Robotropolis, Robotnik takes his seat and
tries to pull up something on his monitor.
At the Knothole medical center, the freedom fighters pace around and hope
that everything is all right. Doctor Quack appears and lowers his head.
The freedom fighters begin to cry when Sonic bursts through the door.
Sonic demands to know why he was left behind, and Geoffrey St. John appears.
Geoffrey says that Sonic is under arrest for murder and treason. As
Fleming handcuffs Sonic, Tails tries to ask Sonic if it is not true.
Sonic is confused, so Geoffrey bluntly states that Sonic murdered Sally.
Sonic is shocked.
Meanwhile, Drago pays a visit to Hershey.
He boasts that nobody knows what will happen next. Hershey appears shocked,
but she does not say a word.
At dawn, King Acorn asks Sonic how he pleads. Sonic says that he
is innocent, and King Acorn replies that he knew Sonic would say that.
King Acorn says that since Sonic was loyal in the past he would not get the
death penalty. He then continues to say that Sonic will have life in
prison at the Devil's Gulag. Robotnik laughs at Sonic taking the fall.
Sonic-Grams highlights:
~ End Game, Part Two will feature a story called "Sonic the Fugitive"
~ Antoine doesn't think that Spaz and Harvo draw him heroic enough
~ The Void and the Zone of Silence are different places
~ The cartoon (SatAM) and the comic are not the same, so things
may happen in one and not the other (for example, King Acorn turned to crystal
but still retained his memory in the cartoon)
