Part One:
Sonic and Sally meet Uncle Chuck, who shows them his hidden spy room.
Uncle Chuck shows them a screen and explains that Robotropolis will have
an earthquake. Sally asks if Robotnik knows of the earthquake and Uncle
Chuck says yes. Robotnik will hover above Robotropolis in a spacecraft
until the quake stops. Sally wonders how to take advantage of this
situation since Robotropolis will have no defenses shortly after the quake
ends. Sonic says that with his speed it should be plenty of time.
Meanwhile, Robotnik prepares to board the spaceship. The swatbots
are already on the ship, so Snively asks what will happen to the robots
left behind. Robotnik says that they are just machines so he doesn't
care.
The spaceship launches into the sky and Uncle Chuck explains that Robotnik
abandoned some robots that used to be normal Mobians. Uncle Chuck
says he will try to deroboticize the robots even though he may not survive.
Sonic tells Sally to go back to Knothole, but she insists that she come
with Sonic and Uncle Chuck. Once the three are inside the headquarters,
Uncle Chuck tries to unlock some doors to get to the deroboticizer.
Suddenly the ground rumbles, signaling the start of the earthquake.
Part Two:
The tremor opened a hole in a wall, allowing Sonic, Uncle Chuck, and
Sally to crawl through to the other side. Uncle Chuck begins to work
and triggers an alarm to get the robots to come to the room. He says
he plans to overload the circuits of the deroboticizer. When it explodes,
there should be a blanket-effect. Uncle Chuck tells Sonic and Sally
to find cover and he pulls a lever as the roboticized Mobians approach him.
As the smoke from the explosion clears, Sonic finds that Uncle Chuck is
still a robot. Uncle Chuck says that it will be more valuable for their
cause if he remains a robot and that it doesn't matter since his theory worked.
Sonic leads the Mobians out of the building and soon everyone is outside.
A plane lands and Rotor explains that there was not enough room on the plane
for everyone. Uncle Chuck offers to stay behind since his robot body
may protect him. Sonic protests and says he will have no trouble running
over the quake. Uncle Chuck says that Sonic could run to the bottom
if a chasm opens. Sally demands that Uncle Chuck return with the
others. She will stay to face what happens with Sonic.
Part Three:
As the plane flies away, Sally has Nicole find a safe escape route.
Sonic tells Sally to keep moving, but it is too late. A large rock
falls onto Sally and she becomes unconscious. Nicole displays the safest
route and says that Sonic cannot stop running. Sonic picks up Nicole
and Sally and begins to run. After dodging falling towers, Sonic finds
a chasm that is filled with lava. He thinks about jumping, but he
would get crushed by a falling tower. Sonic remembers that Nicole
told him not to stop running. He looks up to find a hole in the tower.
Sonic jumps into the hole and runs through the tower to find safety.
The following day, Sally gives Uncle Chuck the Mobius Golden Acorn,
an award named after her father. Uncle Chuck thanks Sally and says
she won't be able to pin it on him. Sonic says that the award is
actually a refrigerator magnet. Sonic then gives his medal to Nicole
and explains that he wouldn't have survived without her. As the freedom
fighters cheer, Uncle Chuck wonders about Robotnik.
Robotnik looks over his ruined city and tells Snively that he wants
to begin rebuilding. Snively asks what will prevent the freedom fighters
from attacking while they rebuild the city. Robotnik explains that
he launched a satellite that will release a force field that will protect
the city. Robotnik begins to tell Snively to activate the force field.
Snively promptly follows the order and the spaceship crashes. An angry
Robotnik says that he was about to say when they are inside.

"Bunnie's Worst Nightmare!"
Story and Art: Rich Koslowski
Lettering: Mindy Eisman
Bunnie sits with her back against a tree and tells the freedom fighters
playing volleyball that it's time to leave. As she walks, Bunnie
has an itch that bothers her. She figures that she laid in poison
ivy. Later that night, Bunnie runs to the freedom fighters and says
that her robot arm is growing. Everyone is shocked and Rotor says
he'll have to analyze the situation to find out how Robotnik did this.
Soon, Rotor discovers that everything is acting like an "automated self-replicating
system." Sonic asks what this means and Rotor explains that Bunnie's roboticized
parts are growing on their own. Rotor apologizes and says he doesn't know
how to stop it. Bunnie says that her worst nightmare is coming true and
soon she will be completely roboticized. Suddenly a device appears from
her hand and the image of Robotnik appears. Robotnik explains that Bunnie
thought she escaped from total roboticization (back in Sonic the Hedgehog #3). However,
a microscopic device was planted in case she escaped to ensure that she will eventually
be completely roboticized. The device cannot be removed and even if she
is deroboticized she will automatically transform again into a robot.
Sonic tries to tell Bunnie that they will figure how to do something
and Sally tells her not to give up. Bunnie says that may it wouldn't
be bad if she was a robot, and then realizes that she had no control over
what she just said. Rotor said that Bunnie's robotic side is trying
to take control. He then leaves to try and figure out what he can do.
Tails follows Rotor, saying that he will help.
That night, Bunnie writes a letter saying goodbye and runs away from
Knothole. After running for a day, she feels tired and rests by a
tree. When Bunnie wakes up, she realizes that it is morning and she
must continue to run. Sally appears and asks Bunnie if she is okay.
Bunnie tells Sally to stay away and realizes that her right arm is normal.
She realizes that she is not completely roboticized and she is not a threat
to her friends. Sally is confused and asks if Bunnie has been having
nightmares again. Bunnie says yes and regrets eating an extra piece
of pie. Sally assures Bunnie that it was just indigestion and she
has nothing to worry about. Bunnie hopes Sally is right.
