Part I:
Sonic and Tails fly on a plane and discover a floating island. As they approach
the island, their plane is attacked. With no way to go back to Knothole,
Sonic and Tails begin to explore the island. They are attacked by a robot,
so Sonic and Tails dive into some water. Although the two try to swim to
safety, they are soon sucked down a drain. Sonic and Tails find themselves
tied in ropes and discover that Robotnik was not behind this attack. Knuckles
the Echidna steps into the light of the dark room, proud that he has stopped
the jewel thieves that Robotnik had warned him about.
Part II:
Snively reveals that Robotnik was the one that tricked Knuckles in believing
that Sonic wasn't a freedom fighter but a jewel thief. Robotnik watches
a monitor as Knuckles sets Sonic and Tails free, giving them ten minutes
to get off of the island. Robotnik yells at Knuckles, then finds out
that Crabmeat retrieved the chaos emerald. Meanwhile, Sonic and Tails
rush to get off the island. Knuckles follows them, and thinks that
they're heading to the location of the chaos emerald. He takes a shortcut
only to discover the emerald gone. Knuckles realizes that Sonic and
Tails didn't steal it, so it must have been Robotnik that stole the emerald.
They head to Robotnik's plane, and Sonic quickly steals the emerald from
Robotnik's hands. Sonic and Knuckles destroy the swatbots, then Robotnik
escapes on his plane. Knuckles shows Sonic and Tails the pieces of
Sonic's plane, and Sonic quickly puts them back together. Sonic and
Tails then fly away, and Knuckles thinks that he will see them again.

Part I:
As Sonic uses his sonic spin to create a statue of Antoine, Sally disrupts
him with news. Robotnik has created a space weapon called the Robostorm,
which can roboticize any living thing within a hundred mile radius.
Sally says she has a plan, so the freedom fighters go to Robotropolis.
Sonic distracts the swatbot guards while the other freedom fighters go into
the Robostorm. As they try to destroy the machine, Robotnik approaches.
The freedom fighters launch the Robostorm to escape, but they cannot sabotage
the machine while they are still in it. Robotnik catches up to them
and drains the Robostorm of all of its power. He will either take
the Robostorm back to Mobius and roboticize all of the freedom fighters
or leave everyone to drift in space.
Part II:
Sonic discovers that there is enough energy left to fly a short distance.
The freedom fighters fly to the closest moon, but they run out of power
before they can land. Everyone prepares for a crash, but they get a
"splatt" instead. Rotor says that they must have landed on the moon
"Muckury," which is covered in muck. Robotnik quickly catches up, and
transforms his ship into a body with legs. He kicks the Robostorm,
only to discover that the freedom fighters quickly escaped. Sonic tries
to come up with a plan and recalls that Bunnie said that Robotnik must love
himself because everything he builds looks like him. He uses a sonic
spin and creates a large sculpture of Robotnik with muck. The sculpture
falls on top of Robotnik, and the freedom fighters escape in Robotnik's
ship. The next day, Rotor complains because nobody will eat his breakfast.
Sonic asks why Rotor made Mobian Mush as the other freedom fighters stare
at their food in disgust.
