With Robotnik's apparent demise, the freedom fighters enjoy their first day of peace.  Sonic and Tails decide to use this time so that Tails can improve his speed.

Sonic and Tails are running along when they notice a floating suit and hat.  Sonic thinks that the suit looks cheesy and decides to check it out while Tails informs the other freedom fighters.  Sonic chases the suit to a new part of the forest, and the suit heads into a cave.  Knowing that it could be a trap, Sonic walks into the cave and is surrounded by a bright light.

Part 1:
In a different time and place, people go to the Wharf Side Dance Hall to have fun without fear of Robotnik.  Sonic, who is now wearing the suit and hat, waits for somebody who previously contacted him on the phone.  Sally appears wearing a dress with a slit, which turns the heads of the guys in the hall.  She approaches Sonic and says that her name is Ms. Acorn, the one who contacted him on the phone.  Sonic tries his best to listen as Ms. Acorn explains that somebody is able to stop Robotnik once and for all.  All Sonic must do is find Nicole and bring her back to Ms. Acorn for a reward.  Sonic speeds out of the hall, promising to find Nicole.

Part 2:
Sonic uses his wristwatch radio to ask Uncle Chuck to find information on the Slippy Dippy Slide Factory.  When Sonic reaches the building, Uncle Chuck tells Sonic that the factory is clean as a whistle.  Sonic decides to go ahead and investigate the building, and after studying the inside, he finds oil.  The oil he finds is used for robots (not slides), so Sonic asks Uncle Chuck if there are any robots leaving the area.  Uncle Chuck notifies Sonic that there are four robots a block away from where he is now.  Sonic hurries out of the building and catches up to the robots.  By using a power ring, Sonic is able to destroy three of the robots.  Sonic jumps on the back of the flying robot and grabs the item from the robot's hands.  The robot turns its head to get the item and instead crashes into a building.  Sonic lands on the ground and opens the item.  The item is actually a computer named Nicole.  Sonic starts to run back to Ms. Acorn to find out what is going on.

Part 3:
Sonic returns Nicole to Ms. Acorn, who restores Nicole's power.  Suddenly Robotnik and his combots appear behind Sonic and Ms. Acorn.  Robotnik tells Sonic that he just helped the leader of the rebellion:  Princess Sally.  Sonic asks why Sally didn't tell him, and Sally explained that he left too fast.  Sonic decides to postpone the argument and attacks some combots.  Robotnik stops Sonic and then points at Sally, who is surrounded at gunpoint.  Sally explains that she downloaded all of Robotnik's files into Nicole while she was at the slide factory.  When some robots appeared, Sally rushed out of the factory and accidentally dropped Nicole.  Once Sally finishes the story, Sonic takes out a power ring, destroys some combots, and escapes with Sally.  Robotnik orders the remaining combots to find Sonic and Sally and then leaves the hall.  Sonic and Sally appear from under a table.  Sonic uses his watch to contact Uncle Chuck, who has already sent Rotor and Tails with a plane.  After thanking Uncle Chuck, Sonic shows Sally a secret tunnel to the airport.  Once the two arrive at the airport, Sally does her best to convince Sonic to join the rebellion.  Eventually Sally makes sense and Sonic agrees.  Sonic steps out of the cave where the freedom fighters asked what happened.  Sonic explains that he was fighting Robotnik, so Rotor reminds Sonic that Robotnik is dead.

Sally uses Nicole's broadcasting system to link to one of Robotnik's satellites.  A huge screen surrounded by smaller screens project images of different freedom fighters around Mobius.  Sally explains that Robotnik's last plan involved making everyone believe that Sally's father returned and that Sally had a fall, thus framing Sonic, and capturing Knothole.  Luckily, Sonic was able to escape and team up with Knuckles and Geoffrey St. John to free Knothole.  Robotnik's Ultimate Annihilator, which was supposed to destroy everything, instead destroyed Robotnik.  When Sally awoke from her coma, she found that her father was alive and that Robotnik was dead.  Sally's next plan is to explore Robotropolis and analyze what has happened to the original city.  Sally then explains that the effect of the doomsday device created zones, or different versions of reality, similar to the one Sonic entered earlier that day (the main story).  Knothole also exists as a zone three hours in the future.  When asked what this means, Sally tries to warn everyone.  However, the link to the satellite ended, and Sally is left hoping that she was able to tell everyone to avoid the zones.

Sonic-Grams highlights:
 ~ Sonic and Knuckles don't hate each other--they just don't see eye-to-eye
~ King Acorn is a squirrel and Sally's mom is a chipmunk, so Sally is both
~ Sonic doesn't know of anything more powerful than a Chaos Emerald
~ There are no plans for a Bunnie mini-series
~ There are no plans to reprint Sonic #25, but there is a plan to reprint stories in a special called "Sonic the Hedgehog:  Firsts!"
