Part 1:
Rotor attaches a camera to Sonic's shoe called the Sonicam. The Sonicam
will help in exploring a new zone portal (like the action zones in Sonic games).
Meanwhile, Robotnik stands in his newest creation: the Collision Chaos Zone.
Robotnik was the one that helped the freedom fighters learn of the portal.
To help lure Sonic into the zone, Robotnik had stolen a bag of Sonic-Gram fan
letters. The first one Robotnik opened was a letter from Amy
Rose, a young hedgehog. Robotnik commands a robot to bring Amy Rose
and then appears on a television to inform Sonic that a fan of his has been captured.
After the broadcast, Snively appears in a costume of Robotnik. Robotnik
instructs Snively to follow behind Sonic in his robo-pod and destroy the trail
behind Sonic. This would force Sonic into the next zone and Robotnik's final
trap.
Part 2:
Sally tries to hold a proper meeting, but Sonic says that there is
no time. He must rescue Amy Rose, who happens to be Sonic's pen-pal.
Sally doesn't want to rush into danger, so Sonic suggests that Tails go
and explore from the sky. Tails quickly flies off as Antoine complains
at the improper conduct of the meeting. Soon Tails finds himself
near the zone. After swooping down low to avoid detection, Tails
is captured by swatbots.
Sonic arrives at the zone, unable to wait for Tails to report.
Robotnik appears on a floating television and tells Sonic that Tails is
with Amy Rose. Sonic jumps into the zone and starts to run.
Robotnik commands Snively to begin burning the path. Back at Knothole,
Sally and Rotor monitor Sonic's progress on the Sonicam. Sally sees
something suspicious, so she freezes an image. Turning herself upside
down, Sally can see that it is Snively dressed as Robotnik. Sonic keeps
running and soon finds himself face-to-face with a shadowy robot.
Part 3:
The robot is Mecha-Sonic,
who challenges Sonic to a race in the Stardust Speedway Zone. Both Tails
and Amy Rose wait at the finish line. Sonic wonders if it would be faster
to go backwards, but he sees Robotnik burning the path behind him. Sonic
has no choice but to start fighting Mecha-Sonic. At Knothole, Rotor says
that the Sonicam is getting interference from the new zone. Sally says it's
time for action. Back at the Stardust Speedway Zone, Sonic and Mecha-Sonic
are racing each other. Robotnik waits at the finish line, testing out his
last trap. If Sonic finishes the race, he will be crushed when he goes under
the final archway.

Part 4:
Sonic falls over a barrier that Mecha-Sonic set up while Sonic talked
to a hologram. High above the area, Rotor flies overhead.
Sally jumps out of the plane and parachutes to the ground. Sonic
tries his new move: the figure eight super peel-out. Mecha-Sonic
tries to go faster to keep up, but he generates too much heat which melts
his legs. Rotor captures Snively as Sally lands on Robotnik, knocking
him over. Sonic crosses the finish line and Robotnik complains that
he missed his chance. Sonic says that he saw through Robotnik's trap,
but would give him a second chance. Sonic stands under the archway
and dodges the falling door. Robotnik goes under the archway to see
what went wrong. Sonic tells the reader to activate the device, crushing
Robotnik.
