Before becoming Dr. Ivo Robotnik, he was known as Julian of the House of Ivo.  Unbeknownst to everyone, Julian toyed with cyborg technology.  His attempts met with failure and soon Julian stole the roboticization process that was created by Sir Charles Hedgehog (Uncle Chuck).  Now one of Julian's failed experiments is activated.

Chapter 1:
Sonic carries Sally as he runs.  Antoine tries to keep up, but Sonic won't let him.  Sonic tells Antoine to hurry so they can find the eggbots (from the last issue).  Soon Sonic stops when he sees the eggbots with a drill.  Antoine finally catches up and talks loud enough that the eggbots could hear him.  As Antoine and Sonic discuss the situation at hand, Sally uses Nicole and discovers an energy signature.  She follows the signal and finds a metal structure that resembles a crypt.  Sally forces the door open and finds a monkey.  The monkey explains that Robotnik made him the most powerful cyborg on Mobius.  Sally has freed Monkey Khan.  At this time, Sonic realizes that Sally is missing.

Chapter 2:
At the Devil's Gulag, Snively asks for his eggbots to report.  The eggbots inform Snively that they just uncovered a power ring in an underground stream.  Snively is upset that the eggbots did not find Ixis Naugus.  Suddenly, the ring rises from the stream and heads toward Monkey Khan.  The ring lands on Monkey Khan's head and takes the appearance of a crown.  Monkey Khan unleashes his wrath on the eggbots and destroys their atom-drill.  Snively is furious at Monkey Khan and decides to send another squad of eggbots.  Meanwhile, Sonic thinks Monkey Khan is showing off and decides to attack him.  Sally pleads with Sonic to stop, saying that Monkey Khan is on their side.  Monkey Khan sees Sally and falls in love with her beauty.  He swoops down on his cloud and grabs Sally.  Antoine tells Sonic that it his is fault, but Sonic doesn't want to stay and chat.  Sonic runs after Sally and encounters some eggbots.

Chapter 3:
Sonic and Antoine begin to fight the eggbots.

Sonic and Antoine continue to fight, but their differences are getting in the way.  Antoine stops Sonic from taking another step backwards, saving him from the cliff down below.  Meanwhile, Monkey Khan asks if he has impressed Sally.  Sally says that if Monkey Khan wasn't concerned with his own ego, he could be a real hero.  Sonic asks Antoine to lend his sword and manages to get some of the eggbots to fall off of the cliff.  Antoine is pleased that they are working together, but they are surrounded by eggbots.  Sonic is ready for a dramatic rescue, and Monkey Khan appears.  Bolts of lightning are shot at the eggbots, and Sonic manages to kick the rest of them off the cliff.  Snively is shocked that all of his eggbots are destroyed.  Sonic thanks Monkey Khan, who explains that Sally told him that he has a lot in common with Sonic.  Once their differences are reconciled, Monkey Khan leaves on his cloud, ready to enjoy his new freedom.

A robot peacock is surrounded by an angry mob of Mobians.  One Mobian says that the peacock was in Robotnik's old lab, so she must be up to something.  A bright light shines, and Uncle Chuck appears to help the peacock, Fanny Dupin.  The Mobian begins to yell again, and Uncle Chuck recognizes him as Tusk Luza.  Tusk is furious that the robot Mobians, or robians, stick together.  Uncle Chuck wants to know what happened, and Tusk tells Fanny to talk.  Fanny explains that she went in the lab because her friends dared her to go.  Tusk isn't satisfied with the explanation and says Princess Sally should settle the issue.  Soon, at Castle Acorn (which still looks like Robotnik's headquarters), the mob and robots gather at the throne room.  Sally is not there, and Geoffrey St. John appears.  After having the situation explained to him, Geoffrey informs the group that Sally is still on a mission (the main story).  Suddenly King Acorn appears, ready to announce his decision.  To everyone's surprise, King Acorn orders the dismantling of the robians, starting with Fanny.  Uncle Chuck protests and calls the law unfair.  King Acorn is shocked, reminding Uncle Chuck that his technology was responsible for allowing Robotnik to take over the kingdom.  King Acorn repeats that he wants the robians dismantled now, and Geoffrey politely objects.  Furious, King Acorn hits Geoffrey with his scepter.  Sally, Sonic, and Antoine walk in the room, and Sally is shocked to see what is taking place.  King Acorn yells that he wants his order carried out and then collapses.  A monitor suddenly appears with the image of Knuckles displayed.  Knuckles explains that he needs the help of the freedom fighters on the Floating Island (the events are in Knuckles the Echidna #9).
