Knuckles no longer exists since Enerjak took him apart by each molecule. Now Enerjak is ready for new challenges.

Enerjak appears in front of Kragok. The Dark Legion is ready to attack, so Enerjak creates a golden bridge to lead everyone to Echidnaopolis. Enerjak informs Kragok that Knuckles is no more, and Julie-Su appears to be upset. Under Kragok's command, Julie-Su serves as the pilot, and the Dark Legion head for their destination. The Chaotix watch as the legion leaves. Mighty, Espio, and Vector's hands and feet are tied to stakes in the ground. The sun makes Mighty feel tired and nauseous.

Knuckles suddenly appears in front of Athair. Athair explains that the Ancient Walkers were responsible for bringing Knuckles back into existence. Knuckles wants to know why he was brought back. Athair says they did it for a reason and now Knuckles must leave. A large bird swoops down from the sky, and Knuckles finds himself in front of the Chaotix.

Remington orders his men to stand around the bridge and then receives a shocking message. General Stryker is upset that his men are complaining, and Remington appears. Remington explains that he needs the help of the dingoes to try and stand up to the approaching enemy.

Knuckles frees the Chaotix even though Vector said he could slip out of his ropes again (he did it in the last issue). Knuckles finds a canteen, and Vector snatches it from his hands. As Vector chugs the water, Knuckles sees the image of Archimedes. Knuckles searches the ground and hears a strange noise. After a little bit of digging, Knuckles finds a container. Shortly after Espio tells Knuckles how to open the container, Knuckles finds a sphere container inside. Charmy flies out, and Knuckles sees that Archimedes and Deo Volente are also there.

The Dark Legion appears from the bridge, and Julie-Su is commanded to ram the aircraft into a barrier. Stryker and his men shoot at the Dark Legion until their weapons no longer work. Enerjak explains that he is in control and commands everyone to surrender. As he speaks, Enerjak begins to disappear. Once he is gone, Julie-Su sends the aircraft on a crash course and jumps to safety.

Enerjak appears in front of Mammoth Mogul. Enerjak is furious, ready to attack. Mammoth Mogul disappears and reappears behind Enerjak. Using the Sword of Acorns, Mammoth Mogul drains the power from Enerjak and absorbs it into his own body (this was his plan since the Battle Royal special). Now that Dimitri has served his purpose, Mammoth Mogul allows him to fall to the ground below. Knuckles glides and catches Dimitri. The Chaotix begin fighting against the Dark Legion. Locke watches on the monitors as the Dark Legion capture Knuckles and grab the body of Dimitri. Knuckles' father scolds Locke for not taking any action sooner. Locke decides to call on the freedom fighters. By using a scrambler, the freedom fighters will think that they are speaking to Knuckles.

Knuckles manages to fight off some of the Dark Legion and tries to recover Dimitri. As the aircraft carrying Dimitri takes off, Knuckles jumps toward it. Knuckles falls short, and Mighty asks if he is okay. Constable Remington and his forces arrive and stop in front of Knuckles. Remington steps out of the vehicle and opens up the back to show Julie-Su and Kragok as his prisoners. Knuckles wants to talk, but Remington assures Knuckles that he can talk to the prisoners at his headquarters. Mammoth Mogul watches the events taking place, thinking that everyone are fools for thinking that their enemy is defeated. The freedom fighters arrive, and Sonic tells Knuckles that they got his message. Knuckles asks what Sonic is talking about. Suddenly a bright light surrounds Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. Mammoth Mogul appears in front of everyone, explaining that their master has arrived and they must submit to him now or pay the consequences.
