Part I:
A strange portal appears and a Sonic-looking cyborg pops out from it. Sonic
recalls the time he accidentally discovered the Cosmic Interstate (from Sonic the Hedgehog #11).
The Cyborg Sonic explains that he comes from a universe where all of the freedom
fighters were turned into cyborgs by Robotnik. The freedom fighters became
more powerful, so Robotnik roboticized himself to win the war. As a result,
Robotnik became too powerful and the Cyborg Sonic took the Cosmic Interstate to
find help. After making many trips, the different versions of Sonic gathered
for a meeting. Suddenly Robo-Robotnik's
head appears.
Part II:
Robotnik sees Robo-Robotnik's head on his monitor and sends his swatbots down
to fight the shadow swatbots.
(Activity: paste the comic page onto a thin piece of cardboard, cut out the pieces,
and assemble your own swatbots.) The swatbots destroy the shadow swatbots,
and Robotnik declares himself the winner. Robo-Robotnik disappears, and
Robotnik tells Sonic that they must work together. Robotnik thinks that
Robo-Robotnik is looking for an alien weapon called the Giant's Hand, which is
most likely in the Neutral Zone. The Sonics head off to the Neutral Zone,
while Robo-Robotnik summons Evil Sonic.
Part III:
The Sonics find their way to the Neutral Zone. (Activity: there
is no color in the neutral zone, so color the Sonics blue.) Sonic
finds the Giant's Hand, but it is stolen by Evil Sonic. Evil Sonic
and the shadow swatbots head off to Robo-Robotnik, but the Sonics stop
them. The Giant's Hand is teleported to Robo-Robotnik, who uses
it to become a huge robot named Giant Borg.
Part IV:
The Sonics are upset over the loss of the Giant's Hand. Sally
reminds the Sonics how working together they can do anything. The
Sonics run after Giant Borg and begin to fight. They knock Giant
Borg over while it lost its balance. (Activity: find debris from
the destruction of Giant Borg.) Giant Borg breaks into millions of
pieces, and Sonic finds the head of Robo-Robotnik. Cyborg Sonic picks
up the head and leaves. Robotnik tries to take the pieces of Giant
Borg in order to rebuild it, but he is stopped by the Sonics. Sonic
gives out the pieces to the other Sonics as souvenirs, thus scattering the
pieces across the universes.
