All about me - I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1974 and grew up in the community of Salt Lake. I attended the public schools of Moanalua Elementary, Intermediate and High School. For college, I attended the Illinois Institute of Technology on an NROTC scholarship. While in the US Navy, I served onboard USS FIFE (DD 991), USS PAUL HAMILTON (DDG 60) and at Navy Region Hawaii as the Foreign Ship Liaison Officer.

I joined the Peace Corps because I wanted to help people in a meaningful way. I selected a position as a business development volunteer in the Philippines because I believed in economic development as the fastest way to empower people. This did not have much to do with what I did, but it was why I joined the Peace Corps.

I participated in the AFS educator program because I really like Thai people and wanted to learn about their culture.
