August 6, 2005 (cont) - Thai students study a lot - they go to school all day, then many, such as my host brother James, go to extra classes until 7pm at night. They also go to school on Saturday! I politely said "no thanks" to teaching on Saturday. They are kids and like to have fun. James and his friends like to play badminton, PS2 and of Pangya. When you hang out with Thai boys, that means eating what they like - duck and duck liver over rice.

To your left, clockwise - Chumcha, Pond, Vet and James.
I enjoy learning from my Thai students - they are very technologically savvy. One of my students has her own web page - you can see it at - www.storythai/user/gorriegalz. It is in Thai, but just seeing the design is neat.

Many of my students carry around MP3 players and they love music. I was chatting with one of my students on MSN, and she recommended the band Scrubb. You can take a listen for yourself
here.

My benchmark for tech savvy youth in the Philippines was a blogger named Camille. She is a high school student in Manila and you can read about her life
here.

To your right, Si sits with a nice Thai meal in Bangkok. I don't know how I am going to live anywhere else after living in Thailand. Where else can I eat such tasty food for every meal. I don't know how Thais who live abroad deal with eating such bland fare. I don't know how I will handle it either...
