April 2005 - Hundred Islands National Park is located in Pangasinan, north of Manila. It is an area made up of many tiny limestone islands. (hundreds?) First, you hire a boat to take you out to an island for a day picnic or you can camp on an island and have a beach to yourself. You can go snorkeling, swimming and walk around your island. It is a pretty neat experience.

I was the only american in our mixed european/filipino group. But because I speak more filipino than my european friends, I got the duty to buy our food. To your rigtht, they suffer the consequences of letting a health-conscious
and "cheap" american buy the rations. We had white bread and peanut butter - to make peanut butter and banana sandwhiches. That sounded like a good idea to me. Apparently, peanut butter and banana sandwiches are not popular throughout europe. I was not aware of that. Because they are all good sports and because they would have starved without eating it, everyone tried it. And I think they liked it. So I hope I did a good job of sharing the joys of peanut butter with my friends....
