December 8, 2005 - I have learned a lot by living in Thailand: - "ow me" means "let's eat" in Burmese. La (red shirt) and Za (green shirt) are both from Myanmar. They are very young, 15 and 20 years old, yet they take care of me (as well as my family!). They are kind, respectful and hard working. I admire and like them very much. - If you think you can keep the attention of 50 Thai high school students for an hour, I dare you to try! |

| As a teacher, I had to learn to be an entertainer. Sometimes I would envision myself as a "dancing bear" and try to make my daily performances fun for my classes and I. I had a lot of latitude as a foreign teacher, so I tried to make classes funny while still making the students learn something. - It might not be a good idea to try and take a photo with your entire class of Thai students... |

| Thai students love cameras and will do everything they can to look cute in front of them. The result is that you can't see me! It's probably smarter to take a picture with just a few students... |

| ...or take a class photo. I was amazed they could fit in the hallway!! My teaching days at Sarabutiwitthaykhom are complete. I doubt there are cuter students anywhere else in the world. I will finish up with an AFS meeting next week. Then, the future..... |
