There are 56 ethnic groups in
China. The Han people form the largest, making up 93.3 percent of the country's
population.I'm also one of Han people The other ethnic groups are called the
minority nationalities. Most of the 55 minority nationalities have their own
languages.Every minority nationality has its own costume, festivals,lifestyle, building
style , even calendar . All the minority nationalities are good at singing and dancing,
they all have their own music and dances.
Some provinces have only one main minority nationality, like Inner Mongolia (Mongolian) , NingXia (Hui) , Tibet(Tibetan), XinJiang(Uygur), GuangXi(Zhuang). Some provinces have more than one main
minority nationalities at the same time. YunNan is a miniature of China's various
nationalities.There are 45 minority nationalities there, like Dai, Bai , Yi, Zhuang, Hui, Naxi,
Jingpo, Wa, Miao, Lisu,Hani , Nu, Shui, Lahu, Achang, Jirou, Deang, Dulong,
Pumi, Yao, Zang(Tibetan), Bulang, Bouyei ...
In Hainan province, there are Miao and Li Nationalities.
Different ethnic groups have various
religions. Hui, Uygur,Kazak, Kirgiz, Tatar,Tajik, Dongxiang,
Wuzibieke, Salar and Bonan believe in Islam. Tibetan, Mongolian, Dai and Yugur believe in Buddhism and Lamaism. Miao, Yao and Yi believe
in Christianity. Oroqen, Ewenki
and Daur believe in Shamanism. Han believes in
Buddhism, Christianity and Taoism.
