The population of Bulang nationality is about eight hundred and twenty thousand persons, most of them live in Yunnan province. They have their own language, at the same time , most of them can talk in Han , Dai and Va language , some of them are good at Han and Dai language.
Most Bulang used to believe in Hinayana doctrine of Buddhism.
Agriculture plays a very important role in Bulang's economy. The major products are rice, cotton and tea. The tea which is call "Puer" they grow and produce are very famous not only in China , but export to western Europe , Japan and south-east Asia ---more than 50 countries.
Bulang like eating raw(uncooked) meat and sour foods. Almost all of the Bulang like tobacco, no matter man and woman, young and old. Some of them enjoy putting the tobacco into their mouth to chew as well as they chew tea.
