The population of Gaoshan nationality is about four hundred thousand persons, most of them live in Taiwan, Fujian, Zhejiang province. They have their own language,some of them know Han language at the same time.
Gaoshan believes in Primitive Religion , worship God , God of Nature and
Spirits.

Most Gaoshan are engaged in agriculture especially in planting paddy, some of them engage in fishing and hunting.
Gaoshan love dancing and singing and good at both of them. They have their own special musical instruments. They have excellent talent in music so that they can use leaves( in their mouth ) to play beautiful music.
Gaoshan are also good at artistic caving and weaving .
