The population of Lahu nationality is about four hundred and eleven thousand persons, most of them live in Yunnan province. They have their own language, at the same time , most of them can talk in Han and Dai language .
Before 1950, all Lahu believed in Primitive Religion , worship Multi-Gods. Now some of them believe in Buddhism , a few of them believe in Christianity or Catholicism.
Lahu love music and dance, their music and dance are with a unique style and with rich flavor of life.
Lahu used to be engaged in hunting, now most of them are engaged in agriculture.

Lahu celebrate two new years, one is on lunar Jan.1th--4th. It is also
called "the great new year" or " Festival of Female". The
other is on lunar Jan. 9th--11th. It is called " the little new year" or "
Festival of Male". Lahu used to be a matriarchal society , you can feel that
