The population of Tujia nationality is about 5.7 million persons, most of them live in Hunan, Hubei and Sichuan province.The famous scenic spot for tourists--- Zhangjiajie is one of the regions Tujia living.
Tujia have their own language, at the same time , they use Han language and writing language.
Tujia worship ancestor and believe in Multi-Gods. Tujia worship white tiger, they call themselves " Descendants of white tiger"
Most Tujia are engaged in agriculture, they are influenced by Han on economy and culture because they live near Han for a long time.
Tujia has an ancient dance which is called "Maogusi " dance, it is a perfect mixture of song, dance and stage play so that it is called " the living fossil of ancient art".
Females of Tujia are good at weaving, their brocade (Tujia call it "Xilankapu") are famous not only in China , but in other country, it is one of the top five brocades of China.
The most important festival of Tujia is their Spring Festival("Diaonian"), it is on lunar Dec.29th. This festival will last a few days even half a month.
