The population of Ozbek nationality is about twelve thousand persons, most of them live in Xinjiang. They have their own language and writing language, at the same time , most of them are good at Uygur and Kazak language because they live near one another.

Most Ozbek are living in cities, they are engaged in business, education, technology and handicraft industry. A few of Ozbek who are living in north and south of Xinjiang are engaged in agriculture. Ozbek live with Uygur for a long time , they influent each other on both economy and culture, so that their are kind of similar to each other on lifestyle, custom and religion.
Ozbek's dance are brisk and elegant. Most of their musical instruments are plucked instruments and percussion instruments.
