The population of Achang nationality is about two hundred and seventy thousand persons, most of them live in Yunnan province. They have their own language, at the same time , most of them can talk in Han and Dai language because they live near Han and Dai nationalities.
Achang believes in Hinayana doctrine of Buddhism. They take green dragon and white elephant as their symbol of luck and happiness. In their own festival, they dance around dragons and elephants which are make of wood and paper .It is really a jolly time!
Achang are famous for cultivating paddy.
All kind of knives they make are very high quality and with adorable exterior, not only Achang themselves take them as their treasures, but people from other nationalities and even foreigners enjoy collecting them.
