The population of Deang nationality is about fifteen thousand persons, most of them live in Yunnan province. They have their own language, at the same time , most of them can talk in Han , Dai and Jingpo language .

Deang are good at planing tea tree and enjoy dark tea very much. They also have excellent ability to make silverware and weave bamboo articles.
The lifestyle , custom and religious belief of Deang are similar to Dai nationality. They also live in house made of bamboo and share "Festival of pouring water" with Dai.
