The population of Menba nationality is about 7.5 thousand persons, most of them live in Tibet. They have their own language, at the same time , they use Tibetan language and writing language. They are similar to Tibetan on economy, culture, religion, use Tibetan calendar and currency.
Most Menba believe in Lamaism, a few of them believe in Primitive Religion.
Menba live in the southeast of Himalayas, it is called " Jiangnan on Qingzang Gaoyuan". There are abound of rain , with nice weather and fertile soil. There are thousands of woods and bamboo , Memba are good at weaving bamboo products. The bowl made of wood is their most famous traditional handcraft.
Menba enjoy singing love songs and wine songs which is called "Sama".
