the month at Bergner’s, second floor meeting room, in Sheridan Village in

July Meeting
– 3rd Monday, July 21 at Bergner’s in
Magic of any kind that you have been thinking
about trying out or showing to the club.
How about learning a new effect or getting out an older one to
show? Anything goes-well, almost. Bring
anything and everything-well, no elephants, please! Bring anything you've
been longing to perform or working on, or a favorite effect, or a new effect
learned from a book or video.

Meeting, Monday, June 16, 2008
This month’s meeting focused on close-up magic
and table magic. A regular table from
the room was used and performances were done close-up with the audience gathered
around the table. Allen Broomfield
performed a card effect with six piles revealing the selected card. Kathy Martin asked for a President’s name and
was given Jimmy Carter. She correctly
revealed her prediction in the form of a photo of a baby Jimmy. Greg McNeil demonstrated a ring on shoelace
effect using a metal ring (about three inches).
Doc Lowery transformed a green plastic coin purse into a Frog Purse with
the voice of a frog croaking. Mike Tate
did his famous dime rising on hand effect along with a three card prediction
card effect. Greg Joyce performed a Cups
and Balls routine with final load surprises of various balls and an extra
routine called Déjà Vu where the three balls on top of the cups vanish one by
one only to be found later under each of the cups. He also performed the top hat cards where a
person signs the middle of an empty top hat card and taps the magic marker on
the card and a rabbit appears in the top hat (similar to Out to Lunch). Brad Borland performed his routine where he
deals five poker hands and has the best hand.
