Bruce is from Cranston, Rhode Island, and is involved with the SAM Talk Internet newsgroup.  Some of the effects he offers include Linking Himber rings, In Lizzy’s Hands (hand-written personal letter from the past predicts chosen card), Lizzy Borden Seance portfolio, Cards Across, Gator Gone (using Gatorade bottle), Ring on Brandy Snifter (glass), Phone Book Phenomenon, Shrinking and Growing Head (visual effect with a spinning spiral), Hypnotic Ring and Spring (two spectators, one weak, the other strong), and the Okito Voodoo Doll (a small straw doll rises in the hand).

Eric Evans Lecture - Sunday, January 8, 2006:

Featured were several coin effects and performance ideas including coin productions (dollar size and jumbo), a clever Miser’s Dream routine, Coin under Shoe routine, Kangaroo Card (chosen card jumps from hat), Balls from Mouth production with a surprise ending, and an effect where a borrowed bill is disintegrated in a small container of a green bubbly liquid only to be later found restored inside a lemon (similar to the Sterling Egg routine).  Eric’s lecture discussed several interesting performance ideas related to his book, The Secret Art of Magic, and his experiences performing street magic.  Eric is from west Texas.

 

Annual Club Banquet - Sunday, January 15, 2006:

The club held its annual banquet in Chillicothe at Grecian Gardens.  Several members and their families enjoyed a wonderful banquet meal of steak, chicken or catfish and all the trimmings.  At the conclusion of the meal, Paul Buob and Danny Houston (16) and assistant Jeff Arbisi performed.  Paul performed a version of the sliding die box with a humorous reference to the Harry Potter plotline.  Danny and Jeff performed the 20^th Century House appearance, Sword Basket, and the Head Chopper.  The setting and meal were combined for an enjoyable evening.

The Peoria Magicians Assembly meets the THIRD Monday of the month at Leonardo’s Pizza (Party Room), 700 E. War Memorial Dr.,

Peoria Heights, IL.  The club does not meet during some months including July and August.  Please consult the web site for current

information.  Guests are invited to our meetings at no charge.  Membership is available for $15 a year beginning in January each year
