No June Meeting!

Lecture By:  TROY HOOSER -- Tuesday, June 22 - 7:00 p.m. - Holiday Inn Express - Pekin, IL - $10

About the Lecture:  Troy broke out of the underground magic world in 2001 with his book DesTROYers and now has a DVD "Total Destruction."  Troy has become a very popular figure in the world of magic, appearing at club lectures and conventions around the nation.  The Peoria Magicians Assembly is very fortunate to have Troy, as he is in great demand.  The lecture is only $10, so let's show him our support!

Tom Craven says about Troy Hooser, "he has been in great demand the past two years for lectures and working conventions.  He has lectured in France, Japan, Nova Scotia, as well as in the U.S. from the East coast to the West coast.  His lecture is one of the best I've seen in a long time. Very mystifying magic, but pretty easy to do once you've learned the routines.  He was one of those 'underground' magicians for years. Then all of the sudden he had a few things get into print, and it's been full speed ahead ever since."

Come to the monthly Roundtable on the 15th of each month at 7:00 p.m. at Hardee's in downtown East Peoria!  Discuss and work on close-up magic or whatever you want!

Last Month -- Friday, May 7, 2004:

Last month was open theme night.  Gordon Snow performed an interesting card effect where a sheet of white paper folded into

fourths revealed, when unfolded each time, three accurate predictions about the color, suit and value of a selected card.  Greg Joyce

floated a dollar bill and demonstrated various methods for those interested.  Nicole Haring and Adam Shake brought a large blue trunk

they found at a sale in Bloomington.  Two other trunks they bought contained costumes and books, but one was filled with magic items.

Surprisingly, the items were apparently from someone from the Champaign IBM Ring.  We had a new guest at the meeting, which makes three new guests, all in their twenties, since the February meeting this year.

If you become acquainted with people who like magic, please let them know about our club and the following web sites.  The PMA web site address is www.geocities.com/peomagic.  Youth magic classes are listed at www.geocities.com/gjmagic.
