THEME: MAGICAL EFFECTS FOR CHRISTMAS & HOLIDAY SEASON

Bring in your favorite magic with a Christmas or holiday theme. Display it, practice it or perform it. You are welcome to teach the effect...but only if you want to. Plus, there will be a grab bag gift exchange (less than $10) for those interested. From your collection of used but not abused effects, select one to give away and place in a bag.

NOMINATIONS for 2004 PMA BOARD MEMBERS are scheduled to be taken at the meeting on November 7. The election of officers is scheduled for the December 5th meeting. The date and location of our January Banquet will be discussed as well.

Volunteers are needed to present and teach effects or a mini lecture at our future meetings. Call Gordon Snow at 347-3706 or Grant Golden at 347-1408 if you are interested.

AUCTION REPORT - Friday, October 3, 2003:

About 15 people were in attendance at this year's auction. Highlights included various effects offered by Tony Mitchell (stage magic), Grant Golden (stage and silk effects) and John Brownback (close-up effects and DVDs). Rich Rau brought and sold one of his larger levitation effects. Tony Mitchell sold a special box that performs an illusion when someone's arm is placed inside.

TOM CRAVEN LECTURE REPORT - Friday, October 17, 2003:

Tom Craven, regular contributor to The Linking Ring, conducted a lecture dealing with card magic and various mentalism effects, emphasizing easy-to-perform methods. Included were a very good spelling card effect and mentalism effects with clear goblets and colored silks, poker chips and other commonly found items. About 20 people were in attendance for this very enjoyable lecture.

The Peoria Magicians Assembly meets the first Friday of each month at West Bluff Christian Church, 2018 W. Kellogg St., West Peoria, IL. Directions to West Bluff Christian Church:  Take I-74 to Peoria, exit at University St. South (Bradley University) Exit 91A.  Take University St.

to the second stoplight.  Turn right on to Main St. at Avanti's Restaurant.  Go past the overhead stoplight at Bradley Field House on the left

and past the next stoplight at Bradley Park on the right.  Two blocks further, Main St. curves left and continues on to Western Ave.  Go past

the two stoplights on the right at Hardee's and McDonald's.  Go two more blocks, past the Kentucky Fried Chicken on the right and before

the auto parts store.  Turn right (west) onto Kellogg St.  Go one block and park in back of the church.  We meet in the basement.
