Lecture By P.C. Swanson -- Friday, December 12, 2003:<

Over 20 people were in attendance for this lecture which included a "four-pile" card effect, ropes through coat and other home-made magical goodies.

THEME:  MAGICAL EFFECTS FOR THE HOLIDAY SEASON

Grant Golden and Doc Lowery each brought in some holiday magic to show everyone.  A brown bag magic gift exchange was done with some members performing their effect the same night.  Sam Hager received a mentalism paperback and performed an ESP card effect.  Tony Mitchell received a small magic kit and was working on a cup and ball vase and a ring and string routine.  Adam Shake demonstrated a small sword through colored blocks effect with the chosen colored block escaping the sword holding the other blocks.  Other bags included a small magic book, a packet card effect and a rope routine.

Directions to West Bluff Christian Church:  Take I-74 to Peoria, exit at University St. South (Bradley University) Exit 91A.  Take University St.

to the second stoplight.  Turn right on to Main St. at Avanti's Restaurant.  Go past the overhead stoplight at Bradley Field House on the left

and past the next stoplight at Bradley Park on the right.  Two blocks further, Main St. curves left and continues on to Western Ave.  Go past

the two stoplights on the right at Hardee's and McDonald's.  Go two more blocks, past the Kentucky Fried Chicken on the right and before

the auto parts store.  Turn right (west) onto Kellogg St.  Go one block and park in back of the church.  We meet in the basement.
