Theme: Lucky Magic, Games of Chance, Gags, Challenges and Puzzles (to celebrate the

luck of the Irish and April Fool's) Examples could include the Lottery Ticket effect, Poker card

effects, Clear Money Box effect, Scotch and Soda and Hopping Half coin effects, metal and

wooden puzzles and strong man challenges.

Last Month:

Meeting on Friday, February 6, 2004. Theme: Sweetheart/Romantic Magic

Tony Mitchell demonstrated a pretty effect where torn white paper pieces thrown at a bare

rose stem transformed into a white rose bud on the stem. Jason Coale performed his Kiss card

routine whereby a female volunteer blows a kiss at the deck and the chosen card has a red kiss

mark on one side and the performer's phone number on the other side which the performer

then gives to the volunteer. Rich Rau performed a nice variation of the cups and balls with

three light blue cups and a special bag. Paul Buob performed a version of the Do as I Do card

effect using a female volunteer. Greg Joyce showed a version of the 10 to 20 Count force

whereby four cards are chosen by a volunteer and turn out to be all queens, thus showing the

volunteer that she is the "Queen of My Heart." Many "humorous" comments and by-play were

heard throughout the evening.

Friday, April 2, 2004 -- April Meeting, 7:00 p.m. West Bluff Christian Church

Come to the new monthly Roundtable at Hardee's in downtown East Peoria on the 15th of each

month at 7:00 p.m.! Discuss and work on close-up magic or whatever you want. Jason Coale is

leading the group. We had a good time at the first one in February!

The Peoria Magicians Assembly meets the first Friday of each month at West Bluff Christian Church, 2018 W. Kellogg St.,

West Peoria, IL, except on months with special events. Please refer to this site for current meeting information. Guests of all

For Directions to West Bluff Christian Church: Take I-74 to Peoria, exit at University St. South (Bradley University) Exit 91A.

Take University St.  to the second stoplight.  Turn right on to Main St. at Avanti's Restaurant.  Go past the overhead stoplight

at Bradley Field House on the left and past the next stoplight at Bradley Park on the right.  Two blocks further, Main St. curves

left and continues on to Western Ave.  Go past the two stoplights on the right at Hardee's and McDonald's.  Go two more

blocks, past the Kentucky Fried Chicken on the right and before the auto parts store.  Turn right (west) onto Kellogg St.  Go
