MAGIC ROUNDTABLE at Hardee's, Downtown East Peoria, 101 N. Main St. (at Washington Rd.)

Tuesday, February 15, 7:00-9:00 p.m.

This is a good opportunity to discuss and work on magic in a close-up, small group setting with other club members.

Annual Banquet, Sunday, January 23, 2005

Club members gathered at The Baja Breeze Restaurant at the Concorde Suites in Pekin for our annual banquet.  After an enjoyable buffet dinner, mentalist Raven performed some mentalism effects, Doc Lowery did some ventriloquism,  and Comedy Juggler Troy Roark, from Springfield, IL, presented his comedy ping ball routine with the assistance of Nicole Shake and concluded with juggling fire torches.

Jim Pace Lecture, Friday, January 7, 2005

Jim’s lecture was well received and attended with about 25 magic enthusiasts.  He opened with a multiple card revelation from about five or six spectators using a dribble selection.  Some effects presented included a snappy version of Professor’s Nightmare rope effect, production of white hanky from Jamey’s (11, Normal, IL) mom’s sleeve and penetration of little finger through her sleeve, coin productions and vanishes including an excellent Miser’s Dream routine, the appearance of a Jones soda bottle and the perception of its subsequent “crushing,” A Rocky Raccoon spring figure routine, several fire effects including two special devices for shooting flames from objects (like books) and a business card wallet holder that produces a flaming business card that you can blow out, and concluding with a demonstration of a spinning playing card that lights up either blue or red.  Jim also performed The Web packet effect for Jamey’s mom.  Jim had several items, books, and DVDs for sale at very reasonable prices and presented a very enjoyable lecture.
