Meeting, Monday, March 17 –

About 21 members and guests joined us for an entertaining evening of magic. Performing were Adam Shake (flea routine on Stiff Rope), Nicole Shake (Professor’s Nightmare), Grant Golden (Silk off Rope, Impossible Sliding Tube on Rope, Dissolving Knot), Greg McNeil (Impossible Knot, Self-Untying Knot), Byron Neibuhr (Rope Through Neck), Greg Joyce (G.W. Hunter Puzzle Knot), Troy Keefer (Ring on Chain), Allen Broomfield (Ring and String), and Gordon Snow (Two-person Ring and String routine, with Adam and Nicole’s wedding ring, while they were seated holding the string from each side). In Gordon’s routine, the borrowed ring was tied onto the string and melted through, vanished and reappeared back onto the string in different ways as well as onto Gordon’s hand.

MAGIC NEWS

The 30th Central IL Magic Get-Together will be held in Urbana at The Urbana Civic Center, 108 Water St., on Saturday, April 21 from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. The cost is $40 per person (evening show ticket included). Separate evening show (7 p.m.) tickets are $10. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the first lecture will be at 9:30 a.m. There are scheduled lectures by Jeff Bibik, Jessica Reed and T. Daniel and a close-up show featuring Andy Anderson, Jeff Bibik and Jessica and Shayna Reed. All three lecturers are performing in the evening show as well as Shayna and Mandy Reed, Andy Anderson, Jesse Wilson and Andy Dallas. Free parking for those attending the event in the Civic Center lot. There will be a night before lecture with Jeff Bibik on Friday at 7 p.m. for $15 limited to the first 12 people to register with Dennis Reed, [email protected], 217-359-7333. The night before lecture will be held at the Ginger Creek Bridge Studio, 2901 W. Springfield near Duncan Rd.
