Letter 55 -- Faith Our
Dear Blessing Spirits, We
know that many of you have wondered why there has not been a
communication on the subject of faith. And now we are prepared to
present you with the true meaning of this virtue. Its definition has
been belabored through the centuries. The
Brothers of Luxor have purposely not included this in their previous
Letters–for They desired this to be our task, for a very specific
reason. We your Brothers of the Sky, will now transmit the New Age
meaning of faith. But
first we must move back in history. There was a time when the only way
in which man experienced faith was through expectation. He knew the sun
came up over the horizon every morning since he could recall, so
therefore he expected it to do the same every morning thereafter. The
same with the moon at night. Also he realized there was a definite
weather pattern that seemed to occur at certain times of his year. This
of course varied depending on where he lived. All of these expectations
were an expression of faith for the early man. It was what he could
count on. Now
let us move on. As man’s experiences took him more deeply into
relationships with his fellow human beings, his world of faith began to expand. He learned to communicate with greater depth and
intensity of feelings and emotions. He discovered that certain actions
caused definite responses from his peers. And thus he learned to play an
active role in his environment. No more was he simply a bystander of
what occurred around him and his life was one consisting mainly of
reactions. He
now knew how to create a set of conditions that could possibly lead him
to his desired goal, whatever that may be. And although he soon learned
that human reactions were not as predictable as the rising of the sun,
he began to trust in his experiences with others. This was another step
in faith, as he knew it. As
man grew in consciousness, he grew in faith that what has occurred many
times before, will occur again. This may be a primitive use of the word
faith, but nevertheless it is correct for those times, as it was more in
the unconscious of man than in his consciousness. Expectation is
connected to consciousness, faith to the unconscious. In other words,
what you expect to happen is a consciously directed thought, what you
have faith in is of the soul. As
man evolved, he became aware of a stirring within himself that he could
not touch or experience consciously, but felt it mainly in times of deep
communion with nature. This is often why nature was and is worshipped as
the Divine. Because it is stationary, it could and can be counted on.
Which also leads to the reason why man’s first response to natural
disaster is his belief that it is a punishment sent by God. For to him,
the wind, the earth, the waters, etc. were all God’s voice being heard
over the land. The concept of God existing in him and his fellowman and
all life was not a part of his belief system. He always looked to the
elements for his reward and punishment. In that his faith rested. As
man became prepared through the energies and heightening of vibrations
from the Higher Sources, the Great Teachers incarnated into the earth to
expand the consciousness of humanity. And with this expansion naturally
came the ability to listen and understand what was being given. The
Solar Logos knew exactly what man could hear and what he could not hear.
He has never expected more from man than what he has been able to give
in understanding. Our
friends, it has taken a very long time and a great deal of concentrated
work on the part of the Higher Forces to raise you to the level at which
you are in this present time. It did not all happen by accident or by
natural evolution. With
each Age a new Teacher was presented to the earth–some heard and
believed and some did not. And thus we move into the very reason why
mankind has had to reincarnate so many times; there was not, at any
given time the full acceptance and faith in the new Message to the
earth. There were some who heard and remembered and carried the memory
in his soul and thus served him in the next life. But he was so deep in
the mire of negative responses to previous karma that the foetal life of
the Divine Message was soon forgotten, and often aborted due to the lack
of desire to carry the required responsibility of the teachings. And he
became more and more buried under his own foolhardiness and lack of
faith in the Messengers from Heaven. Thus
man continued to fight against the conscious knowledge that God did
indeed have life in him. He continued his struggle to separate himself
from his natural state, that of being a child of God. And his faith
remained on the level of the primitive man while other aspects of his
growth continued. He grew in the ability to take care and provide for
himself and his family; he learned to be more diplomatic in his dealings
with other members of the community, and his knowledge of science
increased. (Remember we are speaking here of the multitude, for there
have been those who listened, heard, believed and had faith in the
Messengers from Heaven and grew in wisdom and wound their way quickly
home.) However the life of the soul has been long and arduous for those
who have turned a deaf ear to the lessons of each New Age. They lacked
patience and the required faith needed to allow each teaching to become
a living reality. We will continue–- –Take
