Letter 5 -- Blessings Fifth Letter–Sunday afternoon–3:15 August 22, 1976 Some of you may ask: “How does blessing others help me to develop my own inner spiritual abilities?” Two forces are active when you are Blessing others. One is that you are opening your own spiritual centers to the person or persons that you are Blessing. This is a fact–that you will feel the more you Bless–as you are inviting Us to come and Bless through you. Involved in this process is the development of your own ability to be a Blessing to others just by your mere presence. This is a major step toward adeptship. The more you do this, ten, fifteen, a hundred times a day: your own being is cleansed continually. And as your consciousness sleeps at night, you will continue to Bless on other levels until you are totally a Blessing to all whom you literally see or are in the presence of both day and night. See now how it works! Ah! it can be so simple once you really want to be one with Us. By inviting Us to be one with you to Bless through you, We at the same time are teaching you how to Bless. And Our presence will also commence the realization and development of the other spiritual abilities you have latent within. Trust Us in what We say to you. Put your hands in Ours and We shall all lift the world together. There will be an excitement about all of this as you go along because the more you Bless, the more the Heart will expand as a flower reaching its petals out to touch the people, your bothers and sisters. A touch that they may or may not feel at once, but inwardly they will know it, and their Life will begin to stir of itself. The Blessing is not to be given just by members of the Society or any particular organization, but you–We encourage you that after you have Blessed and it has become a daily way of life for you,–tell others-your friends, neighbors, and yes, those you consider your enemies about it. These Letters and their contents are not secret–remember this. We have an important question to ask you who read and study these messages: Are you prepared to have others think you are fanatic or odd when you tell them of your daily and nightly Blessings? Again what We ask takes courage and there will be times when you will feel that you haven't been heard and that no one cares. It will be a hard test then to see if you stop the Blessings, and in particular to those who have put you down. And this is another important step and test on the Path to Liberation for you. Don't stop at those times when you are so sorely tried. Turn to Us–breathe Us in. We'll help you move past that stone that seemingly stands in your way. Let Us explain more fully what We mean by telling others of the Blessing. It used to be that only those who were more advanced would be told of matters such as this, but times have changed, and people are more aware of the spiritual life than you think and We ask you to trust in this. Whenever you find yourself in a “comfortable” conversation with someone and your intuition begins to tell you this person may be one who would be a “Blessing Spirit,” take a moment for inner reflection; and if the answer is yes then proceed to tell him and invite him to try this new way of going about his daily life. Let Us remind you to watch for your attitude as you do this. It can shade your decision; when if it's left to your inner Spirit your decision will be a wise one. Don't be too afraid that your decision may be unwise, for if it is done in the right spirit, know that the seed you have sown is within the other person and although he may even rebuff you, he will remember and someday will Bless another (you may never hear of it, however). Be content to sow the seed and never know if it takes root; this is another step along the Path for you. Pride has a way of presenting itself at the least expected moment and there will be times when you will be convinced a person does not deserve the Blessing. These will usually be moments when prideful superiority has entered into your Heart. We ask of you, do not allow it to stay there; for then the Light is darkened and the world feels it. Let Us tell you this, as you begin to be a Blessing Spirit, you will only Bless those people, those animals, plants, etc., to which your Heart is open. And then little by little your Heart will open to the areas of Life that are disgusting and yes even sickening to you and you will Bless them. * Ponder on this. Ponder on this–All. All that will ensue in your Life when you do as We ask–you have no conception of at this time–that is why these Letters are to be studied carefully and with no thought of rush because the Order of Them comes from on High. Know what We are saying is Truth and Truth is moving. Yes, We do mention Blessing animals, plants, and all living things, for the World is to be Blessed in its entirety. On this We need say no more at this time. This message on becoming a Blessing Spirit will be one of the most important messages We will send. How to Bless? This is a more individual question, for all people are different in some areas and each may have a specific way that is more meaningful to him. For you see it's what opens the Heart that matters. Some may say, (mentally or verbally) “I Bless you in the Name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit”; others may be “The Brothers and I Bless you”; or “Blessings on thee.” Others may choose to make the sign of the cross before the individual (mentally or in actuality). One such person may make the sign of the cross with his or her eyes before the person. And of course whatever religion or faith you adhere to will determine how you Bless. This is not given only to those of a particular faith, it is given to ALL as We have said over and over again. In your meditation ask and seek in your Heart for the most loving way to Bless, and Try–wholeheartedly. We are with you. |
