Letter 12 -- Service 10/5/76–10:30 p.m. To Our Dear Blessing Spirits, We shall now speak of Service. Service is a message from you to your brothers and sisters, did you know that? Wait and listen patiently to the dictates of the Soul for that which it chooses as the way of service. For as you know, as different are the stars in the sky–therefore as different there are avenues to serve. For remember when We spoke earlier of not denying any part of the body its due–for all are used in carrying His Message. We now turn to a deeper meaning of that Letter. Many go through life trying different types of service feeling that if their brother or sister has chosen that path then it is for them also. But often it is not a choice made by the soul. For the soul carries the memories of all past lives and within that memory lie the many ways it has chosen to serve. Coming forth then in the soul of today is the culmination of all those lives and the knowledge as to the best way to serve in this New Age. ‘For reach not for that which will make you a star–but reach for that which will touch and heal your brothers: Did you know that many are shown at night how they best can serve the world–how they best can serve Us? But when daytime experience presents them with such opportunities they cringe because it is not how they ‘envision’ them-selves in service. This is Truth. Are you as willing to clean up after the sick as you are to be the President of an Organization? Are you as willing to serve the beggar a meal as you are to pick flowers for the Altar of your Church? Are you as willing to take into your home a flea-ridden animal as you are to comfort a crying child? So many ways of service are pleasurable–especially when it is seen by others. All service is seen by Us–is that not good enough for you? If it is not then the ego is still pride-ridden and must be looked at closely. We need to impress upon you the importance of service for the sake of service. By this We mean–be willing to serve with no other motive in the Heart and Mind than to ease the pain of one in need or to uplift the weighty mind of humanity. ‘For it is this Heart and Mind that We move with so freely–as freely as the Voice of God through the trees on the mountainside in the whispering name of wind.’ We urge you to think about this: You ask Us to help you to be servers in the world–and We hear. But what are We to do when you refuse to help the sick man on the street who is repulsive to all passers by? You block Us and you block the energy of service coming forth from the soul. For as We said, the soul has brought with it a way of service that is filled and backed by energy. An energy that once allowed to have its way, will produce within the being the will and desire to serve that matches that of Our Lord Jesus Christ when He was on earth. For remember carefully–He was a pure channel of service–that shrunk from no man–no unsightly sore–no pitiable body was denied His Loving Hand in Service. For His Service as is your service–is God’s Will upon earth–and dare not, We ask you–close it from humanity. Let His Hands be your hands,–His Feet, be your feet–His Voice be your voice - - - - - - - - |
