Letter 15 -- Service Sunday, October 17, 1976–6:00 p.m. To Our Dear Blessing Spirits, We shall continue further on Service. Your Lodge meetings are an important time to discuss Service, for groups are in reality a launching pad for loving Service to the world–realize this. Remember as We said earlier, that the meetings are to be used not only for learning and studying the Theosophical material, but also for each of you individually to relate to the others how well you are doing at becoming a Blessing Spirit, a Giver of Divine Joy, etc. Those times are to be devoted to any problems that have been presented in your Life; any past hostilities, bitternesses, hurts, etc. that are a blockage to your being a true Priest here on earth. For as a true Priest sends forth Blessings and Joys to the people–he also reaches inwards and grows from self examination as to his motives and dedication. If he or she is not continually doing this, he will become stale and staleness and barrenness will creep into his priestly duties. So too with all of you, who are Our Priests upon this earth, we ask that in your daily bestowing of Blessings, Joys, and Service keep that channel–inward clear and fresh with the awareness of your discerning Eye. And do not be afraid to share these intimate feelings and discoveries regarding yourself with your fellow Lodge members–for this leads to a better and more Divine Service among all of you. ‘For it is the wise man who is wise unto the depths of the caverns of his being and knows every hidden corner therein. Let there be no cobwebs filtering the Light of the Mind into your Center.’ Keep clear Our Friends, keep clear. This sharing and devotion of oneself to the meeting will raise the conscious and unconscious of the entire group. And this shall in turn lift the world as your Service grows more pure. We mean it literally when we say that the groups are a launching pad for Service. For if the meetings are used merely as a spiritual weekly social gathering and little is done the rest of the week in consciously spreading Love, then of course will find your group stagnating. This is because the flow is kept in the room where you meet. If you could see this with the inner Eye, you’d realize what a serious problem this can be. Therefore We ask that a portion of the meeting be used for each of you to discuss where you are, what problems you’re having, etc. in your personal world of bestowing Blessings, Joys, and Service. Do not rush this time for it is essential to world peace. Name this the Service Sharing time of your evening and before it is begun We ask that as a group you say this prayer together: Dedicate
us, your Priests, O Lord–to that which calls forth the Love of our Hearts to all our Brothers and Sisters. Help us to seek Thy
Will in our lives–alone and as a group so that we may sow the seeds of
Truth upon the Path which all mankind treads. |
