DEMONOLOGY interview for Dark Recollections 'zine

Interview answered by James...
1.DARK RECOLLECTIONS: give us a brief band bio....

JAMES: Demonology 's 1st demo was released in 2002. We searched for replacement drummer for 2 years to complete our current line-up. In 2004 we were a complete four piece band started playing shows to tighten up the sound. In summer 2005 we worked on 2nd demo with new songs and new ideas. We have recently been working on new material to be recorded in February 2006.

2.DARK RECOLLECTIONS: Introduce band members.. who does what, plays what instruments?

JAMES: Paco -Guitars/Vocals, James- Drums, Ray - Bass/vocals, Jaime - Guitars

3. DARK RECOLLECTIONS: Was it hard to find the right band members to achieve what you envisioned DEMONOLOGY to be?

JAMES: Since we all share the same musical interests and influences we all know what we like and want to sound like. The right drummer was the hardest to find after trying many people who didnt have what we were looking for.

4.DARK RECOLLECTIONS: what has DEMONOLOGY released so far...(demos?)

JAMES: 2002 self titled demo (10 tracks) and 2005 Studio demos (6 tracks)

5. DARK RECOLLECTIONS: Can we expect a DEMONOLOGY Cd being released in the near future?

JAMES: Yes we are shooting for a release late spring/early summer.

6.DARK RECOLLECTIONS: What is a DEMONOLOGY show like... how do people react to yer music...what are some of the bands you have played with?

JAMES: To see what a show is like 1st you must attend. But to describe it would be aggressive, insane with loud crowds very rowdy.Weve had tables and chairs flying through the air! People get kinda crazy. Weve opened Cephalic Carnage, Origin, ,Infamy, Rigor Mortis, Decrypt Emeth (From Belgium), Cannibal Corpse , Malevolent Creation.

7. DARK RECOLLECTIONS: What is the scene like where you live... any bands you recommend checking out?

JAMES: Malsum(from Las Cruces N.M.)myspace.com/malsum These guys are really good, you gotta check em out. The scene has it ups and downs. Some good bands fade out while others are coming out. There are lots of talented bands in El Paso. There is always a show going on and more and more people are coming out and supporting their local talent.

8.DARK RECOLLECTIONS: what is the song "Obscured Belief" about... what inspired its lyrics?

JAMES: Obscured Belief was inspired by how religion is the number 1 cause of conflict and wars in human history and how some dont want to serve a blind cause. If your not part of any organized religion, you are frowned upon especially in this part of the country. Seeing what goes on around you and all the negativity in the world today and people may ask how God may have let it happen, or how he allows innocent people to suffer.

9. DARK RECOLLECTIONS: Are you familiar with any of the following bands: BLOODFEAST, CARNAGE, MORBID SAINT, MASSACRA, NECROPHAGIA?

JAMES: We have heard of Blood feast, Carnage and Necrophagia.

10.DARK RECOLLECTIONS: are you a vinyl record collector.. . what are some of the albums you are proud to own?

JAMES: We have some vinyls but not really collectors. Im proud to own Ride the Lightning and the 1st Sabbath album. Sepultura Beneath the Remains, Nuclear Assault Survive.

11.DARK RECOLLECTIONS: back in the early 90s there was a lot of demo, tape trading on the underground scene...do you write to any bands, trade demos,?

JAMES: We trade cd demos with all bands we play with who are willing to do so, and most correspondence is done through our webpage and via email to those band members who show an interest in our type of music. The best advantage of our webpage is that not only do bands from many parts of the world communicate with us and show interest, as we express our interest in many band we have discovered online, but there are also people who are non musicians who request demos as well.

12.DARK RECOLLECTIONS: any DEMONOLOGY merchandise available for the public? (list items, prices)

JAMES: Demonology shirts $8, girl shirts $8, decals $3, hoodies coming soon , Cds $ 8.

13.DARK RECOLLECTIONS: any comments, last words?
JAMES: Thanks for the interview and for your interest in the band. We will keep you posted on our new release.
