1. DARK RECOLLECTIONS:When did you start TOXIC HOLOCAUST ?
TOXIC HOLOCAUST: formed in 1999 as a full line up. Things didn't
work out due to musical differences. In 2001 I
reformed TH as a solo project and have been doing it
that way ever since.
2. DARK RECOLLECTIONS: Is TOXIC HOLOCAUST a one man band, or is there
any other people involved in the band? (introduce
band members if any)
TOXIC HOLOCAUST: Yes TH is a solo project, and will continue to be.
3. DARK RECOLLECTIONS: what is your experience with the underground
scene...? how long have you been listening to
metal, what was the 1st metal album you listened to?
TOXIC HOLOCAUST: I ran a distro for a few years which I have recently
stopped. I've been involved with the underground scene
mostly as a fan for many years now. 2002 saw the
release of the Critical Mass demo which was really the
first Toxic Holocaust thing really spread among the
underground, but I was buying tapes and records from
UG bands for many years before that.
I have been listening to metal since I was about 11
years old. First Metal album I bought was Megadeth
"Peace Sells..But Who's Buying?".
4. DARK RECOLLECTIONS: what shows from the 80's thrash scene did you
have
the opportunity
to experience?
TOXIC HOLOCAUST: None actually. I'm 22 years old.
5. DARK RECOLLECTIONS: did you release any other demos besides
"critical
mass" demo?
TOXIC HOLOCAUST: Yes Radiation Sickness from 1999. I was recorded with
a full band.
6. DARK RECOLLECTIONS: Talk about your new Cd "Evil never dies"
TOXIC HOLOCAUST: It was released on CD by Witches Brew and LP by
Nuclear War Now. It's one of the best recodings I have done so far, anyone into 80's thrash should check it out...Reactions have been good so far.
7. DARK RECOLLECTIONS: how did the deal with Witches Brew come about?
TOXIC HOLOCAUST: I sent Cheryl the "Critical Mass" demo and she liked
it, she offered to release new Cd "Evil Never Dies"
8. DARK RECOLLECTIONS: Nuclear War Now Productions has released the
same
album on Lp
was there any conflict with Witches Brew for
release
of Lp, or is this
something you did on your own?
TOXIC HOLOCAUST: There wasn't any conflict. Now diehard vinyl
collectors and CD buyers can have the same music. It
also helps spread TH through out the world because NWN
is in USA and Witches Brew is in Germany.
9. DARK RECOLLECTIONS: How can anyone buy your Lp/Cd?
From me or the 2 labels.
10.DARK RECOLLECTIONS: any new releases that we can look forward to
,
in
the near future?
TOXIC HOLOCAUST: Yeah, I just recorded 2 tracks for an upcoming 7" on
Iron Bonehead Productions, and the 4-way split 7" with
Nocturnal, Bestial Mockery, Vomitor and Toxic
Holocaust available from me for $5 ppd.
11. DARK RECOLLECTIONS: talk about scene in Delaware... any bands you
would recommend
checking out?
TOXIC HOLOCAUST: Nothing worth mentioning.
12.DARK RECOLLECTIONS: back in the 80's you there was a lot of tape
trading going on , you could
write to bands and they write back and sell you
their
demo...this doesn't
happen on today's scene... what's your opinion on
that... is there a demo
that you got from a band that you are proud to
own?
TOXIC HOLOCAUST: I have to disagree, I mean in today scene there are
plenty of bands who would write back and with email it
even makes it faster and cheaper (read free). if you
email or snail mail a band and they don't write you
back they are probably dickheads who aren't worth
supporting anyway. I mean If someone snail
mailed/emailed me, I would take the time to write
back. That's what Metal is about!
13. DARK RECOLLECTIONS: any last words, comments? thanks for the
interview...
TOXIC HOLOCAUST: Thanks for the support! I have just moved so my new
address is:
