Pictured above: an entry for The Milk Carton!
Congratulations to Gabrielle Miller for winning a Leo award in the category of Best Performance or Host(s) in a Music, Comedy, or Variety Program or Series for her hilarious work in "The Brent Effect!"
August 14, 2006: Apologies yet again for another late update, and thanks to everyone who wrote to me while I was away. In this review I've posted reviews of all eleven remaining Corner Gas season three episodes: Picture Perfect, Safety First, Hair Loss, Ruby Newsday, Merry Gasmas, Friend of a Friend, Block Party, Physical Credit, Telescope Trouble, Bean There and Road Worthy. A couple of them include new images. I also finally got around to investigating the Six Degrees updates I mentioned two updates ago, and am sad to say that only the aforementioned Bob Crane correction turned out to be valid (however, the actress mentioned in this update, Barbara Babcock, has a very extensive list of credits and should come in very handy for future Six Degrees challenges). Also, I added 17 questions to the 42 already in the FAQ section. Since roughly three quarters of the 59 questions have now been asked twice or more, I'm now actually comfortable calling the page "Frequently" Asked Questions. True, some were only asked once, but have been included to give you an idea as to what a trip into the Grad 86 inbox looks like (for a couple of lowlights that came in while I was away, see questions 58 and 59, the last two). Scheduled for the next update: some entries crossed off The Milk Carton and reviews thereof, along with some new images. I'd give you an estimated date for the next update, but we all know I won't meet it anyway. Thanks again to everyone who has sent me items from The Milk Carton - not only for the items, but for your patience as I do my best to find time to review and post them.
June 10th, 2006: Apologies to site visitors for the amount of time between my last update and this one; spring is the height of tourist season in Washington (cherry blossom festival, weather that is far more tolerable than it is in summer, etc), and some of those tourists were friends and family, so free time was at a minimum. At any rate, in this update I've posted reviews to Corner Gas episodes Dog River Vice, Will and Brent, The Littlest Yarbo, Mail Fraud, Fun Run and Trees a Crowd, as well as bloopers for second-season episodes Security Cam, Bingo Night, Hurry Hard and An American in Saskatchewan. I also removed four items from The Milk Carton and posted reviews of the episodes of Poltergeist: The Legacy, The Immortal, Just Cause and The Sentinel in which Gabrielle appears. The first three are thanks to Paul R. from Toronto, and the fourth comes from Claire M. from Winnipeg. Both sent me other Milk Carton items (reviews forthcoming) as well, and Paul sent me some great images from Corner Gas episodes and some bloopers I missed (also forthcoming). Thanks also go to Patty K. from Edmonton for yet another Milk Carton item, a review of which will be posted soon. I also added links to the credits section (something I thought for over a year that I had already done - many thanks to Paul for pointing this out) and added an "appearing here and elsewhere with Gabrielle" list to my review of Rupert's Land after Tony L. was kind enough to point out that I had forgotten to do that, too. Lastly, I added some new questions (and some new images) to the 33 that were already in the FAQ section. The next update, which I hope will include the Six Degrees updates I promised last time, is scheduled for mid-to-late July upon my return from an upcoming overseas vacation.
March 23, 2006: Posted reviews to two movies (One Dead Indian, Rupert's Land) and two third-season Corner Gas episodes (Dress for Success, Key to the Future). Also posted a small images page for pictures  which really don't fit in on other pages (thanks to Tony L. for most of them) and a dry run of an FAQ section. Upcoming plans include more Corner Gas third-season reviews, more second-season bloopers, a few new updates on the Six Degrees section (one reader found a way to connect Gabrielle to Bob Crane in two steps instead of my three, for example) and reviews on a few new direct hits from The Milk Carton.
February 17th, 2006: Posted bloopers for Smell of Freedom, Whataphobia, Pandora's Wine, Harvest Dance and Rock On. Upcoming changes include an FAQ section, reviews of One Dead Indian and Rupert's Land (the second direct hit brought about by The Milk Carton), and a new images page which will contain pictures of Gabrielle outside of her film and TVcredits. I have several people to thank as of late, chief among them being Claire M. from Winnipeg for the copy of Rupert's Land, Tony L. for a boatload of pictures which will be posted soon as well as lots of useful links, and Steve C. for useful links and for tirelessly answering a number of questions I had ranging from Canadian life (including the recent elections as well as the true depth of the French-English language issue) to Gabrielle's famous Diet Coke commercial.
January 4, 2006: Posted bloopers for Poor Brent and the surprisingly blooper-free Lost and Found. I'll have to give that episode another look. If you see any bloopers I missed, please drop me a line and let me know at [email protected].
December21, 2005: 1.) Added a list of 17 bloopers to Corner Gas episode "Mosquito Time" (I'm doing the episodes out of order on an arbitrary whim, and before you ask, yes - one of my New Year's resolutions is to be faster in producing these), 2.) because The Milk Carton scored its first direct hit, removed M.A.N.T.I.S. episode The Black Dragon from the list and posted a highly unflattering (to the show, not to Gabrielle) review of it, 3.) added a brief review of Robson Arms episode Aftershock, and 4.) posted an update in the answers section to Six Degrees of Gabrielle Miller after a visitor to this site pointed out a way to connect Gabrielle to KISS bassist Gene Simmons one step faster than the answer I provided. I wish Gabrielle and all of her fans the happiest possible holiday season, and may 2006 be the best year yet for each and every one of you.
November 2, 2005: Posted reviews of the final four second-season episodes: Rock On!, Air Show, Slow Pitch and Harvest Dance. I now have the second season of Corner Gas on DVD and have begun work on bloopers. In my review of Slow Pitch I included some of the obvious softball-related bloopers; the rest for the season are coming as soon as I find the time to search episodes for them and post them here. In response to errors pointed out and requests sent to me by e-mail, I also a.) corrected my review of X-Files episode "Our Town" to include Paula Gray's first name in the role description, and b.) because of repeated requests, increased the font size of my June 13th addition (regarding Deanna Milligan) to my review of the movie Starlight.
September 19th 2005: Posted reviews of Corner Gas episodes Mosquito Time, Hurry Hard, American in Saskatchewan, Pandora's Wine and Doc Small. Four episodes to review remain from the second season.
September 15, 2005: Summer vacation has ended, Europe is still in one piece, and work resumes on this site. Pictures were added to the Six Degrees of Gabrielle Miller page. In my absence I received another episode of Robson Arms with Gabrielle in it, apparently the last episode of the season, so another review is forthcoming. Posting of further Corner Gas reviews is now way behind schedule but coming soon. Honest. I really mean it this time.
July 15, 2005: Finally got around to posting some of the missing Corner Gas reviews: Lost and Found, Poor Brent, Hero Sandwich, Security Cam and Bingo Night. Bloopers for these forthcoming. Nine episodes left to go.
July 14th, 2005: Posted a review of Robson Arms episode "The Telltale Latex." Hope everyone has a happy Bastille Day.
July 6, 2005: Removed "Glitch" from The Milk Carton and posted a review here. Also, finally remembered to update the Six Degrees of Gabrielle Miller .xls and .pdf sheets to add "First Aniversary" data to what was already there.
June 13, 2005: Made an addition to my Starlight review to in response to an angry e-mail from a fan of Deanna Milligan. You can read it here; the addition is in italics.
June 12, 2005: Posted reviews of three Corner Gas episodes: "Wedding Card," "Smell of Freedom" and "Whataphobia." There are some bloopers on "Wedding Card," only one on "Smell of Freedom" and none on "Whataphobia" because trying to catch bloopers on low-quality VHS is cumbersome enough to the point where it makes more sense to post reviews first and look for bloopers later. As soon as I've got the last 14 reviews up, I'll go hunting for bloopers - hopefully, the DVD will be out around then.
June 11, 2005: After an impromptu vacation, posted brief review of Outer Limits episode "First Anniversary."
May 24th, 2005: Some new pictures added to this update page, the I Love Lacey page and the Marine Life page.
May 23, 2005: Review of "The Brent Effect" added. I've now seen 10 of 18 episodes of the second season thanks to VCR-owning friends who live in Canada, there should be a few more reviews up within the week. Still looking up the fourth "Outer Limits" episode, but at least managed to get this page up-to-date.
May 21, 2005: I just discovered that Gabrielle was in yet another episode of "The Outer Limits;" imdb.com lists three episodes for her, and I've only seen one of those (see regarding the other two), but there is actually at least a fourth in which she makes a brief appearance. I'll post a review of that as soon as I research the people in it and touch up the Six Degrees of Gabrielle Miller .pdf and .xls files to include anyone appearing in the episode not already listed on those files. The main character in the episode is definitely already listed in those files, but I saw one guy in this episode that most certainly was not, so there's some digging to be done.
May 13, 2005: The site gets its first guestbook entry from someone who gave me good advice on getting better positioning on search engine results. As of this writing I have gotten it up to the top 15 under "gabrielle miller" on Yahoo, Excite, Dogpile, Canada.com and others, but am still having trouble with Google and MSN.
April 26, 2005: Site launched, admittedly in extremely rough draft form. I'm not an expert in web design, but I thought it better to have the material on the Internet now instead of waiting to get better at building pages. If nothing else, it gives others a chance to see what's here and add to or correct what I already have. If you have anything to add (especially from The Milk Carton, although anything will be appreciated), please drop me a line at [email protected]. If you'd like to be notified by e-mail when the site is updated, feel free to write to me at that address as well (you'll be notified by BCC, so no one else on the mailing list will see your address). Otherwise, you can bookmark this section of the site and check for updates - whenever anything is added or changed, it will be noted here.
