I LOVE LACEY
EPISODE 13 - I LOVE LACEY - "An unexpected stop on the way the Grey Cup in Regina causes Brent to consider his real feelings for Lacey."

OVERALL IMPRESSIONS: This is easily the least funny episode of the season, and a fairly lame attempt at a cliffhanger. Thankfully, the first episode of the second season, "The Brent Effect," deals with the pseudo-cliffhanger very well and gets the series back on track.

MEMORABLE MOMENT: For me, and I suppose for any red-blooded male who has seen this episode, it's a tie between when Brent sits with Lacey on the farm and when he's talking with her in the closing scene of the episode. In both cases she's throwing herself at him, so these scenes qualify as the most memorable because all any normal guy watching the episode at these points would be screaming "For God's sake, you moron, kiss her!"

MEMORABLE LINE: When Hank asks "Hey Oscar - Does your friend Russell like to lie on the kitchen floor with a phone in his hand?"

FUNNIEST SCENE IN THIS EPISODE: When Brent and Lacey run out of gas and go to a nearby farm for help, Lacey wonders aloud where everyone could be, Brent says "I don't know, it's almost as if there's a huge football game on in a nearby city," and Lacey instantly responds with "Maybe they got there by putting some sort of fuel in their tank."

BLOOPERS:

1.) Along the lines of the weather blooper in "Face Off," there's no way the weather would be so warm around Grey Cup time in Regina.
2.) When Brent and Lacey are sitting on a bench outside of a farm, at 16:13 Lacey says "Man, too bad this wasn't a walk-a-thon. We could have gotten some sponsors and raised some money. At that moment she's looking at Brent, but in the next instant the scene switches, with no time lapse, and she's looking at the ground. There are similar discontinuities in the next couple of instances of the cameras switching from Lacey to Brent, but this is the most noticeable of them.
