AN AMERICAN SALUTE
TO
GABRIELLE MILLER
If you're Canadian, you probably know her work very well - especially if you're a fan of Corner Gas. If you're from the States, you've probably seen her multiple roles on TV shows such as X-Files, The Outer Limits, and Highlander. You may have seen her on Breaking News, Frasier, Sliders, Jeremiah, The Twilight Zone, Stargate SG-1, The Chris Isaak Show, and Jake 2.0. Chances are, in fact, that you've seen her repeatedly and wondered where you've seen her before.

Her characters have ranged from a flower child (Sliders) to a streetwise cop (The Twilight Zone), from waitresses (Corner Gas and Outer Limits episode "From Within") to mistresses (Floating Away and Due East), from beautiful brides (Breaking the Surface: The Greg Louganis Story and Jake 2.0) to a badly battered wife (Marine Life), from a wallflower of a crooked bank teller (Inspectors 2: a Shred of Evidence) to a flirty, hot and extremely dangerous telekinetic (First Wave). Her characters have been killed off by Hollywood notables like Michael Madsen (Inspectors 2) and Robert Blake (yes, THAT Robert Blake, in Judgment Day: The John List Story), blown into a vat of ground-up chicken parts by a bullet fired by a crooked cop (X-Files episode "Our Town"), killed by the sword of a clumsy fiance (Highlander episode "Epitaph for Tommy"), shredded by shards from a bathroom mirror (X-Files episode "Syzygy") - and this is only the beginning of the range of roles she's played.

She's played invaluable roles in good shows and movies (Corner Gas, The Silencer, Highlander episode "Rite of Passage"), she's been the sole saving grace in productions that are bad enough to make battle-tested Special Forces veterans cry out for their mothers (Starlight, Breaking the Surface, Floating Away), and she's turned the mediocre (Jeremiah, Stargate SG-1, Marine Life) into the highly watchable. She's done roles that would make anyone's jaw drop (DaVinci's Inquest, Outer Limits episode "From Within," Judgment Day), and roles that can't help but to amuse the viewer (Corner Gas, Sliders).

You may very well have some of her work in your house right now, and you can go straight to some of the reviews on this site by clicking on the images of any of the readily-available DVD sets below - or you can pick one of the other links on this page and start from there.

If you're from the States, it's about time you were formally introduced to an actress who should have been a household name here long ago and looks like a good bet to become one soon. If you're from the States, I hope you'll take a few moments to look around this site and get to know an actress you've probably already known for a quite a while. If you're from the States and are tired of good-looking actresses who can't act, I hope you'll come on into the site and get to know one who can, and one who somehow finds a way to make the viewer smile no matter what role she plays. If you're from the States, I hope you'll join me in extending a well-deserved and long-overdue American salute to the best actress you've probably seen repeatedly but have never heard of (until now) - Gabrielle Miller.
