In this page, you will get to explore the mind, events and feelings of a Chun Jui... ok, fine, judging from the past 26 years, my life is far from what you call "eventful" (in fact, "dull" might the be more appropriate adjective) but I'll try to keep my entries interesting!

It's September again! For us teachers, September means back to reality.. boo!! Now, I know all of you non-teachers do not feel much sympathy for us, so I will try not to whine too much about going back to work.

Anyway, I was reading in the newspaper that for a lot of people, September is like another New Year's because most people resolve to turn over a new leaf and start fresh. I agree because back when I was still a student, I always started off the school year with ambitious goals such as to kick my bad habit of procrastination once and for all, to sleep earlier at night, to exercise more, to join more clubs, etc. And usually, I don't keep up with these goals. :) Now that I'm a teacher, I find myself compiling yet another list of resolutions for the new school year that aren't too different from those before. Of course, I have some added ones such as to improve my skills in dealing with annoying/demanding parents, and keep learning to grow a thicker skin. I hope that I can continue to feel the passion I have for teaching despite all the conflicts and stress that will surely arise along the way.

However, apart from the goals and resolutions for my professional life, I have set out some resolutions for my personal life as well. You will notice that on my main page, I have changed the song to Leo Ku's latest song "Never Too Late". The first time I heard it, I loved it not because the melody is particularly moving nor is it because Leo's voice is particularly spectacular (that's not to say he's a bad singer-- he's actually quite good, but I digress). I loved this song because of it's lyrics. I really like the message of needing to enjoy and cherish every moment of your life. Life is too short; make sure all of your loved ones know that you love them. Don't just assume that they know and that they will wait for you-- act now, make sure they know you love them all the time. As Leo sings, "Don't assume that there will be a 'next time' because within a second, the words you keep in your heart could be history." Make time for your loved ones; don't wait until it's too late or else you will regret it. The song also mentions loving yourself and making time in your life to enjoy the things you love. So, even though you may not be a student heading back to school nor a teacher heading back to work, I sincerely hope that like me, you will also make it your resolution to love-- your family, your friends, your life, and most importantly, yourself!
