In this page, you will get to explore the mind, events and feelings of a Chun Jui... ok, fine, judging from the past 26 years, my life is far from what you call "eventful" (in fact, "dull" might the be more appropriate adjective) but I'll try to keep my entries interesting!

Wow, it's almost the end of August already and I just realized that this is only the first entry of this month! I can't believe time just flies by so quickly!

Anyway, we finally went on our long-awaited trip to New York City at the beginning of this month. It was so much fun but definitely extremely tiring! We jam=packed so much in each day because we didn't want to waste anytime but of course, that meant lack of sleep and jelly-like legs! :)

The first day of the trip was a LOOOOOOOOOONG day! The day started at 3:45 am for me because our flight was at 6:30am, which meant we had to be at the airport by 5 am. When we finally arrived at the hotel in NYC, it was only 8:30 am but it felt really late already. Then, we began our exploration of Manhattan! That day's schedule was jam-packed with sightseeing along the famous 5th Ave. We visited the Rockefeller Centre, saw the "Today" show outdoor studio, went into Saks 5th Ave. (and gawked at the outrageous prices), the Trump Tower, FAO Schwarz, St. Patrick Cathedral, and my favourite, the Disney store! This Disney store is NOT the same as the Disney stores here in our Canadian malls! This particular one was 2 levels, FILLED with lots of fun, colourful Disney characters and merchandise, including a Mr. Potato Head assembly station! (I particularly enjoyed the section of eyes at this Potato Head station!). But the most fun at this store was on the second level, where the "Friendship Room" is. Here, we managed to take pictures with a live Pluto and Minnie Mouse (in a Statue of Liberty costume)! The group pictures turned out great!

Next, was the LOOOONG walk to the famous Metropolitan Museum of Art (the Met)! We walked and walked and walked, sweating and tired, not realizing how far the Met actually was! We were so exhausted by the time we got to the Met that I was very worried if I would be able to still walk around the actual museum! Anyway, after the Met, we finally went back to our hotel for a quick rest and shower. On the agenda for that evening was dinner, an off-Broadway show, and drinks in celebration of May's birthday! Mind you, by dinner time, we had already been up for more than 13 hours and we still had so much to do!! By the way, the off-Broadway show that we saw was "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change!". It was HILARIOUS and it definitely kept me awake and laughing! I highly recommend it if you're in NYC and looking for a good, cheap, off-Broadway show!

Anyway, Sunday was more exploring of Manhattan, which meant more walking and much more sweating. That day included visiting Ground Zero (an absolutely overwhelming experience for me), mini-shopping, taking the free Staten Island Ferry, Canal St. (NEVER again!), Little Italy, outskirts of Soho (including visiting Victoria's Secret!), and finally, the Empire State Building (NEVER, NEVER again!! I have "line-up phobia" from that now! It's so not worth it!). Later that night, we walked around the streets of Manhattan, looking for a bar that was still open at 12 am on Sunday/Monday and after some walking, finally found a nice one. :P

Monday was the much anticipated trip to Woodbury Outlet Mall!!! This outlet mall is definitely the best in North America and possible the largest. Six hours later, we had only managed to cover maybe a fifth of the stores there and we didn't even spend a lot of time in each one! Good deals? Some, depending on which store you went to. I bought some stuff of course, but not really that much. However, when the entire group met up at the end of the day, you should have seen all our bags!!! We had to cram all our bags into the small trunk of the rental mini-van and I was attack by the avalanche of the bags when I later opened the trunk! :)

Tuesday was the day we were leaving but our flight wasn't until 6:30 pm, so we took advantage of our time in the morning and went back to SoHo, in search of Bath and Body Works! :P After much searching and detours into some stores, we finally found it and lots of money was spent there! :)

Anyway, I took pictures but due to mechanical and intellectual difficulites (my own, of course), I only took pictures of the first day and up to our visit to Ground Zero. I have attemtped to upload these pictures onto Sony Image Station but again, due to technical difficulties (NOT my fault, this time!), it's not working and it kept crashing my computer. :( Once I have figured it out, I will definitely post the link here.
