In this page, you will get to explore the mind, events and feelings of a Chun Jui... ok, fine, judging from the past 23 years, my life is far from what you call "eventful" (in fact, "dull" might the be more appropriate adjective) but I'll try to keep my entries interesting!

So, I think I figured out the problem: I've somehow come up with the idea that I actually matter to people around me. The thing is, I don't, really. Other than my parents and perhaps even my brother, I don't really hold much of a position in the lives of people I know.

Which leads to another big flaw of mine: I have this need to feel, well, needed, by other people. There are some friends who do call on me when they are down and need someone to listen to them talk (of which I am completely honoured to do and am very willing to do, don't get me wrong) but some call only when they have that need. When their problems are solved or things are going well in their lives again, I don't hear from them for a very long time until they have problems again and they call on me.

I usually don't really call many people to talk about my problems or unhappiness because I feel like I don't want to bother them. But I do try to do my part and I do try to call/email just to say hi.

I guess that's the way life goes: some very close and good friends will eventually and inevitably become "hi-bye" friends, no matter how hard you try...

I did it! I was finally able to run on my elliptical trainer for 30 minutes straight today!! Oddly enough, even after 30 minutes, I felt like I could still go on... what a great feeling: sweat pouring down my face, cheeks flaming red, and my hair a mess (I know, very attractive-- probably smelled even better! :P) but my legs weren't burning as much as they used to when I first started running on my elliptical (I used to be kind of winded just after 10 minutes!! Can you say "out of shape"??). Anyway, I'm just starting to get myself into the shape that I aim for so hopefully, this new level of endurance will be the motivation for me to keep going at it! Anybody proud of me? :P

Anyway, a quick update of my life: last week, my parents and I went into London for my bro's MBA convocation and boy, was THAT ever boring!!!! For 3.5 hours, we were sitting cramped in these really tight seats---AND we're short people! My knees were nearly around my ears! I can't even imagine how tall people managed to sit in those seats. Anyway, I can't believe that my brother is already done his MBA-- time sure flies when you're getting old! One year from now, I'll be done my MA as well!

The drive to London was HORRIBLE! Because I didn't get off of work until about 3:30 on Wednesday, we were stuck right in the middle of rush hour on the 401. It took us an hour to just get to Mississauga! Even after the 427 and the airport, we were still going at about 40 km/h... ugh... To amuse myself, I took pictures with my Zire of the sky and the trees... yeah, I was pretty bored! 8/ By the time we got to my bro's place, it was already 7 pm and Mika had dinner ready for us. Speaking of dinner...ooohhh.....Mika really outdid herself! For dinner that night, we had a spinach and arugala salad with fresh raspberries and toasted almonds, pork tenderloin and mashed/pureed sweet potatoes, drizzled with apple sauce, and for dessert, vanilla ice cream with mixed fruit, agar agar jelly, and red beans, all washed down with white wine! And I should mention that Mika scored 13 on a scale of 10 on presentation of the food--- for a second, we had all thought that we were eating in a fancy restaurant! (Scroll down for pics!)

For brunch the next day (day of the convocation), we had a fresh fruit salad with mint, TONS of waffles with fresh strawberries, a spinach and arugala salad with Yukon potatoes, poached egg, and smoked salmon, and coffee. Yes, exactly. I know you're thinking, "Whoa!"... :) I think I gained 5 pounds just from dinner and brunch that day!! After the convocation, we all went out for dinner, which was also excellent... Seems like all I did there was eat! :) (And I watched "Kill Bill" Volume One on DVD--- right before I went to sleep!)

Top row, left to right: A weird sky "scene" on the way to London, spinach and rasperry salad (appetizer before dinner), how the table looked
Middle row: Wine for our dinner (Sauvignon), pork tenderloin with mashed sweet potatoes (dinner entree), view of the sunset from the apartment.
Bottom row: A game of shadows, waffles with fresh strawberries for brunch.
