In this page, you will get to explore the mind, events and feelings of a Chun Jui... ok, fine, judging from the past 23 years, my life is far from what you call "eventful" (in fact, "dull" might the be more appropriate adjective) but I'll try to keep my entries interesting!

Wow, another long hiatus! =P Things have been busy lately, so as much as I love tinkering around with this website, updating it has really been the last of my priorities...

Anyway, I feel like I'm on vacation this week because we have a week off from placements! Last week was our last week in our first placement block and next week will be start of the next block, so we have this week off to "decompress" (as my professor calls it). My next placement will be in a grade 6 classroom at Secord P.S. What a difference from my previous grade 2 placement! =P Speaking of the grade 2 placement, my last two days there were very sad.. =( My associate teacher had warned me that the kids were going to be very clingy, and she was right. I didn't realize how attached and how used to me. My heart nearly broke when kid after kid hugged me tightly and pleaded, "Don't go, Miss Ng!", " Don't leave us!", "Why do you have to go??", and the clincher, "I love you, Miss Ng! I'll never like another student teacher again!"... eeee....I almost cried myself! A lot of them gave me handmade cards and letters on my last day. A boy gave me a packet of carrot seeds ("Remember to water them lots, Miss Ng!"); a girl felt bad for not bringing me a present and so,insisted that I accept her 11 cents ("Take it, Miss Ng. I've got lots of money!"). Another girl, mad at herself for forgetting her present for me at home, gave me her purple crayon, and another girl handed me a small rock ("It was the smoothest one I could find in the playground, Miss Ng!")... ;) I actually miss them now....

Speaking of missing people and attachment issues, apparently two little girls at the preschool are missing me too! ;) I don't get to teach them this Fall session, so the two of them drew me pictures and got my co-worker to write "I miss you" on each of the pictures, and give them to me... awww.... Apparently, both of these little girls are always asking their moms where I am.... It's these things that makes it all worth it; it's these things that make me want to be a teacher! It feels very good to know that I've affected so many little lives.... =P

AND, speaking of preschool, I recently bumped into the mother of two kids who I used to have in my preschool class. The elder one, a boy, is now in GRADE THREE!!! His little sister is in GRADE TWO!!! Holy moley!! They were both two and a half when I first started teaching them, and now they're about eight and seven, (respectively)?!?!? Even the mother said to me, "You're still working here??" =P But, I have to admit, it also feels nice to know that parents still recognize me and remember my name even after so long.... That and when parents say, "It's because of you that I keep bringing my kids back to your classes!" :D

Anyway, I had a really nice and relaxing Thanksgiving weekend. My family and I went apple-picking last Monday--what a perfect day to do so! The weather was absolutely gorgeous, keeping everybody in good spirits. =P I must of taken a million pictures, what with my Zire digital camera and my regular camera! I climbed a tree, ate a couple of apples, played "catch" with my brother (he threw the apples to/at me from his position up in the trees, heehee), picked other varieties of apples other than the usual Red Delicious, bought fresh honey from a roadside wagon (well, my parents did but I went with them and took pictures), and went for dim sum after the whole excursion! Whew! AND, I had helped cook Thanksgiving dinner too.... :P I missed all of my friends but I'm also thankful I got to spend quality time with my family!

To wrap things up, I have three birthday shoutouts: Happy Belated Birthdays to Kendrick (October 11) and to Jane (October 19), and an early Happy Birthday to Berlyn (October 23)!! May all of your wishes come true! =)

Long time no update! =) Thanks to those who either left me a message or called me to see how I was doing lately. So how have I been doing? Well, it's been pretty hectic, very tiring, very overwhelming but it's actually going by pretty quickly! The last time I wrote in here, I was only in my second week of placement but with the blink of an eye, I'm now nearing the end of the fifth of my six week placement!! I can't believe that it's October already and Thanksgiving is almost upon us again... Soon, it will be Christmas! It's incredible...

Anyway, I've attempted to arrange an apple-picking excursion for the upcoming long weekend but unfortunately, almost all of my friends can't make it. =( However, I will be going on Thanksgiving Monday with my family, so at least I'm able to go out and take in a much, much needed breath of fresh air! I'm absolutely itching to go outdoors-- I've been cooped up inside my house for too long, spending night after night doing my never-ending stack of readings!

Here's something interesting I heard on the radio: An author has recently proclaimed that everybody will experience three types of romance in their lifetime. One is in which you love someone with all your heart and soul; the second type is in which someone will love with all their heart and soul. The third type of romance, however, is the most plain. It is with this person who you will marry. What do the rest of you think? Let me know-- I'm interested in what you think! =)

P.S. I will change the McDull calendar at the top of the page once my scanner is fixed!
