In this page, you will get to explore the mind, events and feelings of a Chun Jui... ok, fine, judging from the past 23 years, my life is far from what you call "eventful" (in fact, "dull" might the be more appropriate adjective) but I'll try to keep my entries interesting!

I'm actually too tired to update this journal but I must update this: my brother is getting married!!! He officially proposed to his girlfriend tonight! I've actually known that he was gonna propose to her for a few weeks now but he finally did it tonight! =) So, even though I have a LOT to update but really too exhausted to do it tonight, I must say this to my brother and future sister-in-law: Congratulations to the both of you! I am truly happy for the both of the you!

The above photos are taken with my Zire 71 digital camera. The first one is a shot of the birthday present and card Viv sent me all the way from Japan! =P The second one (blurry for some reason), is a shot of some of the stuffed animals I have on my bed (I sleep with all of the stuffed animals on my bed!). It includes the Cheer Bear I got from Liz, and the sleepyhead McMug Jane gave me for my birthday. Thanks guys!!
We've had, like, the sixth power failure today in the last three days!! It's insane! It wasn't even raining, and when it was, it wasn't even hard! Argghh... this morning, for the second time, I had to shower in the dark by the dim light of my flashlight.... Everytime we have a power blackout, I'm always reminded of how much I take electricity for granted in my daily life. Waking up to the alarm of a digital clock, microwaving food, taking a shower with the light on, blowdrying my hair, opening the garage door, etc., are all things that I couldn't do without electricity. All these seemingly mundane things that I've taken for granted are luxuries that only a small population of the world possess. The majority of the world population (i.e. those in developing countries) can only dream of enjoying those things. As I rushed out of the house this morning, running late with my hair still wet, and backing the car out of the garage only by manually opening the garage door, I was irritated by how inconvenient everything became simply because we didn't have power. I thought of calling our hydro company and give them an earful about how incompetent they've been in restoring our power. How lucky I am to actually be annoyed by not having electricity.
P.S. Like the July McDull calendar? =) Take a look at the June McDull calendar!

I received another belated birthday present yesterday! Lizzie, one of my best friends, actually got me a Care Bear! =) It was Cheer Bear, of course. heehee... It was like she read my mind because I was just playing with the Cheer Bear in the store last week when I went to get my mom a birthday card! I already have Cheer Bear from when I was 4 (I brought her in for Show and Tell at preschool last week!), now I have another bigger, updated Cheer Bear! =)
Speaking of preschool, many people are surprised that I'm still working there after all these years (5 years). I don't think it's anything out of the ordinary simply because I'm finding myself loving my job more and more with each day I go to work. Of course, I've had my share of bad days there, and pissy things happen amongst co-workers and stuff but nonetheless, I truly enjoy being with the kids. I think that working with little kids keeps me happy and uncomplicated. When people learn that I've been working for so long, they say they admire me for keeping with one job for so long, but honestly, I think I'm the lucky one for finding such a great job that I love so much. I know I sound cheesy but seriously, I'm really glad that I found this job! =) Now talk to me tomorrow night after another tiring day of work, and see if I still say the same! =P
I came across the following poem in a Chinese book. The author, HK singer Chris Wong (I love him!! =P I've just recently "fallen in love" with him, though), wrote a book of loose essays and he reprinted the poem in one of his very sensitive and reflective essays. The author of the poem is unknown; the title of it is called "I Wish You Enough".
<-- Can you believe this silly "brudder" of mine is getting married??
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive,
I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting,
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all you possess.
I wish you enough "Hellos" to get you through the final "Goodbye".
I dedicate the above poem to all the people I love in this world. =)

Happy Birthday, Mom! Yesterday was my mom's birthday-- Mom, I hope all of your birthday wishes come true, your health continues to be good, and may the rest of your days may filled with happiness! We love you! =)
Speaking of birthdays, yours truly's was about two weeks ago, and no, so far, being 23 hasn't been that bad yet... =P I had to work that day (by myself! My co-ordinator, AND my co-worker both didn't show up for work!!! *grumble*) I had a nice buffet dinner with my parents and my uncle and cousins that night. It was fun to see and play with my younger cousins again. The youngest one is already four and a half but still cute as ever! =D I'm so envious of him-- being at that age, where his biggest concern is what to play next. I'm also envious of his innocence, his faith in people and the world. I miss that!
Then, the next night, I went to karaoke again. hahahahaha.... With my brother! Since the ghetto-ness of Twister from the night before didn't quite quelch my craving for karaoke, I talked my brother into going to a more efficient karaoke place-- Take One. =P And boy, did we get our money's worth--- we broke our previous record of 4 hours of karaoke-ing by singing for nearly 5 hours that night!!! hahahahahahahaha......Because it was just the two of us, we had to drink a lot of milkshakes and iced lemon tea to use up our minimum charge of $60. After my 4th mint chocolate milkshake, I told my brother, in a quite serioius tone, "I can't drink another milkshake or I'm gonna hurl." We left shortly after that. =)
Speaking of my brother, you know what he got me for my birthday?? He got me a Palm Pilot, the Zire 71 model!! It's sooo cool! It can take digital photos, I can listen to mp3s, the screen is in colour and super clear, which makes playing games on it that much more fun!! =P My brother helped me download a whole whack of games, heehee! I know it was expensive, so THANK YOU, big "brudder" (that's how my preschoolers pronounce it!), I will definitely use it often. Mika got me a yoga mat and ordered the Winsor Pilates 3 DVD set for me, something I really wanted! THANK YOU! =)
P.S. I really wanted to upload some new pictures like the June and July McDull calendars, and the silly photos I took with the digital camera in my new Zire 71 but I just found out that I haven't re-installed Photo Shop yet after my dad upgraded my computer a couple of months ago. =( I need to resize the photos first before I can upload them here, so new photos can be seen later!
The following Friday, I finally got to see my friends for a belated birthday celebration. It was fun! We went to Nagoya, an all-you-can-eat Japanese buffet-- I've never seen SOOO much sushi, sashimi, and teriyaki on one table before!! =P Thanks to Kendrick, we ordered almost everything on the menu, and he certainly was hoping that Moaz and Benny would get there soon to help polish off the food that was certain to be left over, as the rest of us females were sure to be unable to eat that much! haha... After dinner, most of those party poopers had to go home, and ended up not going to karaoke with the rest of us. heehee... I'm just kidding guys, I know all of your excuses, I mean, reasons for not being able to stay out that late. You're almost all forgiven!! hahaha... =P
Anyway, because so few of us were actually gonna go to karaoke, we had to change locations from the originally planned one, Take One, because it would be too expensive for just the 6 or 7 of us. We ended up going to Twister, after a lot of phone calling. I've never been to Twister before that and I've been warned that it was pretty ghetto but I wasn't prepared for how ghetto it really was! I guess I've just been too "spoiled" before by always going to karaoke places where song selection was computerized because I certainly was not prepared for the "old-fashioned", manual song selection style that Twister had. You see, it would have actually been ok if the old-fashioned way was the only method of song selection but things got pretty confusing (and funny!) because Twister was in the middle of a transition from the old-fashioned method to the computerized, digital style that I'm used to. heehee... "Aim HERE if you want to use the old way but aim HERE if you want to use the computer but you can't just use the computer only because some functions still aren't working..." =D Anyway, THANKS everyone who came out that night to celebrate with me! I had fun, not only because it was my belated birthday celebration but because I was just happy to see all of you again-- I mean it! It almost felt like we were in HK again, what with the stickiness of the weather, and the karaoke! =P Oh, and thank you guys SO MUCH for all of your gifts-- each and every one of them was very thoughtful (yes, including the one from you Benny!! =P)!
