In this page, you will get to explore the mind, events and feelings of a Chun Jui... ok, fine, judging from the past 24 years, my life is far from what you call "eventful" (in fact, "dull" might the be more appropriate adjective) but I'll try to keep my entries interesting!

Yes, yes, the long awaited update from 20 days ago!! :P I suspect that some of you may be curious as to know how my brother's wedding went since that's pretty much all I talked about in my last entry! Well, I could make it a long, drawn out story or a simple, short description and since I want all of you to still be interested in what I have to say, I will go for the latter. :P Anyway, the day of the wedding was absolutely perfect, everything ran so smoothly and beautifully. But of course, as with every wedding, there has to be one or two small little bumps. One of those bumps was the actual start of my day. My alarm went off at 5:05 (yes, a.m.!!!) because I was to be at Mika's house at around 6 to do my hair. I heard it, turned it off and decided to just to wallow for another 3 minutes or so, as I usually do. 3 minutes actually turned into FIFTY- three minutes!!! I woke up with a sudden start at 5:58, remembering that I had to be somewhere, somewhere more important than work or school!!! Mika's maid of honour, Jane, was to be at my house around 5:45 to pick me up to go to Mika's (yes, Jane was running late too)!! Through the torrent of my swearing (yes, I used profanity-- the situation seemed to warrant it!), I heard the phone ring. Yes, that was Jane who was outside of my house!! Jane, being the super nice person she always is, offered to wait outside for me to get ready--- 10 minutes!!! Ten minutes?!?! I can't move that fast so early in the morning! After a lot of persuasion, I sent Jane off and my dad had to be my last minute replacement driver to Mika's house. :D
Anyway, the best part of the wedding was the weather. For the two weeks leading up to the wedding day, we had been glued to the Weather Network for the forecast for the big day. Rain seemed to be inevitable ( "The percent of precipitation is 60%, although it was 90% at one point!" -- Vincent, the groom and my brother). The rehearsal the night before scared us too because the weather was awful, so cold, windy and rainy. So, all we had hoped for was no rain. We didn't dare to even hope for sunny weather. That morning, it was dreary and drab but it wasn't raining, and we had our fingers crossed. Then, one hour before the wedding started, the clouds parted and the SUN came out!! The sun actually came out and made us feel, why, even warm!! This miraculous weather lasted for the entire ceremony and picture-taking, and it didn't start to rain a little until we were all in the car, leaving Sunnybrook Estates (location of the wedding)! No amount of money in the world could possibly buy good weather. I swear, someone up there was looking down on our entire family, blessing us. :P
The flowers were absolutely beautiful, especially the bride's bouquet. It was simple, yet elegant and beautiful. The trio was very lovely and it was so romantic when they played the "Wedding March" as Mika walked down the aisle with her parents. The look on my brother's face as he watched his bride-to-be walk towards him was absolutely priceless. I've never seen my brother smile so happily and big when the officiant announced them as husband and wife. I nearly cried but I managed to hold it in. :P
Oh, oops, I forgot I had promised to keep this short, so I will end this description by saying that the dinner reception was equally beautiful at Canoe, of the top ten restaurants of Toronto. Although I didn't really have the luxury to fully appreciate my dinner (I barely even had the yummy hors d'oeuvres!! :(), the food was delectable as expected. Oh, the cake, the wedding cake... what a BEAUTIFUL cake!!! One of the guests, a family friend of Mika's, made the cake, as her wedding present to Mika and my brother. The cake was a three-tier cake, white in the background with these beautiful, absolutely gorgeous, hand-made cherry blossom flowers (made from marzipan). It was one strand/branch of 3-D cherry blossom flowers that twisted/wrapped around the cake. It was so gorgeous that the pastry chef of Canoe came out to take notes and pictures of it!!
As for the slide show, everybody loved it, especially my brother and Mika. They also loved my wedding present to them, which was a large mosaic-collage of pictures of my brother and Mika, their friends and family. They loved it so much that they displayed at the entrance to Canoe, where the guests signed in. :D And yes, I cried. :P I was starting to bite back the tears when Mika was giving her thank-you speech because she was crying (all it takes is for me to see someone cry!!). It became an ugly cry when my brother thanked me in his speech. :S I don't even really remember what he said because I was crying so much... eek. I was so embarrassed!!!
Anyway, they are coming back from their honeymoon tomorrow. They went to France!!! But, true to their word, they did send me a lot of postcards, which was my request for them. :D
This past weekend was interesting for me. I went to yet another bridal shower (which was fabulous, by the way!) but the lead-up to it was less than desirable. To make yet another long story short, I caught a glimpse of a side of friend that I never know before. Although the whole situation was a big misunderstanding/miscommunication, I was made painfully aware of how much I still care about how others see me. I didn't want her or anyone else to think of me as a rich, spoiled brat just because I was lucky enough to have never known what true poverty was as I was growing up. It doesn't mean, however, that I'm not grateful of all that I have nor does it mean that I always got what I wanted. Ugghh... anyhow, even though we talked and sorted it out and were back to normal, I was very surprised that I had "wronged" her again the next day, the day of the shower. Though I'm not going to divulge into any details here (you can call me if you want to know, or maybe you'll be one of the unlucky ones that I call to tell you what happened.. :P), for this particular incident, I will not apologize because it was not my fault. If someone can get mad over something such as this, then that person needs to figure out what it is exactly that's bothering them and not blame me for it! I apologized for being insensitive (although it wasn't completely my fault either because I didn't know about certain details) about the initial misunderstanding but the second incident was completely NOT my fault. Ok, enough cryptic babbling. Oh, one more (though not cryptic): Happy 25th Birthday, Lizzie!!!! That means only one more month till my own... booooooooooo!!!

The countdown: 4 days to go before my brother's wedding! I can't believe how quickly time goes by--- it seemed like only last week that they announced their engagement!! So far, it looks like it will rain on Saturday... boooo!! But I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the weatherman will be wrong again this time! :P
I will be one of the MC's for the dinner reception, and although I haven't really practised yet, I've already prepared what I need to say (mostly introductions). As well, being the saintly sister that I am :D, I'm also working on a slideshow of my brother and Mika's life. A lot of work is required than it appears, as I want it to be GOOD with music and stuff. The music is hard to find, as often I will think of a song that would be perfect for a certain segment of the slideshow but I would not have it-- so frustrating!! However, I've been having a lot of fun learning how to edit songs so that it would fit with the slideshow... :P
Anyway, I don't have much to say but I thought I would share some of the excitement that's going on with my loyal readers! :P I'm not promising anything but if it's possible, I might be posting some pictures of the wedding on here, so keep checking back!
