Terrain and Infrastructure

The tactical map in your personal folder gives a good overview of terrain, infrastructure (terrain properties) and unit deployment.

Example: "Panama Gambit" Tactical Map

Terrain

The map terrain is color coded. To find out what each color stands for, you can check the "Terrain" page of the scenario. The most important values associated with terrain types are "Travel Costs" and "Elevation". The first tells you how many movement points a unit needs to move thru this terrain type, the second shows the elevation which also has an effect on travel costs (speed), sight range and fire range.

Infrastructure (Terrain Properties)

The map also shows all terrain properties which have been defined for the scenario. To see which types of properties are included in the game, select the "Properties" page of the scenario you are playing. By clicking a property on that page (or a property icon on the map), you can drill down to the detail settings.
